Sabrina's place is awesome. it is about 50K north of Firenze and so about a 1 hour drive. 1/2 the trip is twisty beautiful Tuscan mountain roads. I grew up in the hills of West Virginia, so it was very familiar to me. Directions from Goggle maps are perfect. The cost to drive the A1 portion from Firenze to the Barbarino exit is only 2.10E. The rooms are very cool and well outfitted with everything you need. You may have to go to reception to get internet service. The associated restaurant just down the hill is excellent with a great staff. The views are fabulous, especially as the morning fog raises . Say hello to Sabrina's two dogs and Stella the black cat.
We loved Gli Orzali.
PS - if you stay here I assume you have a car. parking in Firenze is a pain, but we discovered if stay on the A1 heading south, go two exists past the Firenze Cento exit and get off at the Villa Constanza Tram exit. The parking fee is 5E for 10 hours and the tram is only 1.80E for a one way tram ride right to the main train stationMore
