What a wonderful holiday property. We rented the West Wing of the Retreat de Ramond for our family (2 adults and 2 kids, 13 and 16) and truly loved it. The property was wonderful, with all amenities we could have wanted including good bedrooms and a reat kitchen and a great pool which allowed us to watch the sunrise, sunset and enjoy during the day.
The evening meals sat on the patio were lovely funny family memories, our walks around the property were lovely and the trips into charming Duras were great too. The games room topped it off - we had some serious family championships and the chance to play and walk with Elodie the family sheep dog was such a treat.
i would 100% recommended a stay here. The whole holiday was great. There are more things to do nearby, Kayaking, walking etc but we didn't need it.
The kids have listed it as one of their favourite ever holidays because we got to spend an amazing time together but the Retreat du Ramond was the perfect setting for it.
Thanks for having us in your lovely holiday home.
We have just returned from an amazing stay at Ramond Retreat. We have had an fantastic week. Great location to visit many local villages and vineyards. Great facilities, lovely and tranquil. A total break from the grind with maximum relaxation. Out of this world night sky that you won't have seen before.
Big shout out to Viv and Elodie for making us feel so welcome and providing us with all the local Intel you can't get in any book.
We've just returned from a fabulous week at Retreat de Ramond and it was as magnificent as the photos look. Perfectly presented wonderfully situated.
Our family had an incredible time there and we will be back.
If you're looking for rest, relaxation, sun, wine and great food then look no further. I can't recommend the property more highly.
A wonderful slice of French heaven.
We spent a heavenly week at Ramond in late August 2019. The Dordogne location is picturesque, utterly serene and easily accessible from Bordeaux or Bergerac airports. The accommodation has been lovingly and beautifully restored by the owners (Dan and Mel). It is large, airy, immaculate, comfortable and understated. Everything is finished off to a high standard. Towels and sheets supplied were hotel quality. The kitchens are well-stocked and lend themselves to all sorts of entertaining, from easy lunches to evening barbecues (there are two). The outside space is absolutely stunning, particularly the pool area. The pool is one of the cleanest I have come across, it is salt water (not chlorine thank goodness), heated and delightful - much time spent on the lilo! There are also yummy fresh plums (from the orchard) and figs. The gym and games room are a brilliant bonus (the weather was so glorious during our stay the kids only used the games room once during an evening). The local towns, restaurants and (mainly food) markets are easily accessible by car and a must-do, particularly the local night markets. Supermarkets also close by. Viv, the manager lives in an adjacent cottage, if needed, with her fabulous doggie Elodie but we were lucky enough to share the accommodation with owners who are relaxed, helpful and hugely knowledgeable about the local area. I did NOT want to leave and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend (and please take me with you!)
