This is a "visit once, learn from the mistake, and tell others not to go there" establishment. We found this place on the internet and the place looked beautiful, especially the gardens and pool. The owners are a different story. They are Russian ex-pats who insult everything and everyone, especially Peruvians. They have nothing to do during the day so they literally follow the guests around telling them what they can't do: you can't swim in the pool you are supposed to soak, kids can't play in the grass it is just for show, etc.
It is kind of like visiting a crotchety relative and overpaying for the experience. My wife was reading her book in the lobby around 9:00 pm and the owner turned off the lights in the room and said she was wasting electricity. On the first night we got eaten alive by mosquitos because the screens were torn. We asked the owner to repair the screens and he told us we needed to use bug spray and sleep with a sheet.
We had an awful experience and left early.
While the hotel was terrible, the beach is pristine and the town is very nice for several days. We found another place down the beach called El Mirador and we will be staying there next time. In Los Órganos you can easily show up and look around a bit before booking. The beach is well worth it.More
