We spent a long weekend in this hotel and just loved it!
Very friendly staff, excellent food and wine - altogether very good value for the price.
Slow food at its best, local produce for dinner and breakfast.
Can only recommend it!

One of the most pleasent and welcoming hotels we have ever been to.
It is in fact an ex palace of the king of Italyand it's location is great exit point for a day trip for all the places in Piamonte we wanted to visit.we had the most beautiful view of the Alpes mountains and the lovely gardens surounding the hotel. The personal treatment of the staff, the clean ingness everywhere, good food (slow food philosophy) made this hotel to one of the most worthy hotels we have ever visited in.

We used the Albergo dell'Agenzia as our base of operations for a week of exploring the Barolo and Barbaresco wine regions in late March 2017. We had a good sized room with a small refrigerator that had water and juice provided every day at no additional cost. The mattress is pretty firm and the room temps were a tad warm but otherwise completely comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was bountiful with fruit, eggs, meats, cheeses, cereal, juice, and coffee. Meals in the restaurant were delicious with good sized portions. There is a comfortable bar area in the lobby with wine and well made drinks. We visited the Wine Bank on property for a good overview of Italian wine. The grounds and common areas are lovely. I would gladly go back.

That does not mean there are not areas that could be improved. Given the association, it would be useful to have a list of nearby Slow Food establishments (producers, restaurants, etc.) available at the front desk. The bar is nice and the complimentary Bra sausage, cheese and breadsticks are a great treat, some variety in the complimentary options or the ability to purchase other light options would be welcome especially for patrons staying more than a day or two.

A quick word of thanks to the staff who were always courteous, professional, attentive and invaluable in arranging dining reservations around the area. Top notch!

We travelled two hours from Genova to this venue and had a tour of the Estate before lunch then a tour of the Wine Bank. Home of Slow Food the whole experience was devine, Staff were excellent and attentive, Food & wine second to none and in my opinion not excessively expensive. The experience was well worth the journey but then I wasn't driving!!

Room Tip: did not stay at hotel but restaurant is attached to it.

The drive up appeal to Albergo dell'Agenzia is lovely. The old manor house seemed filled with character but we were disappointed in the actual accommodation. We managed to book a one night stay during the Alba Truffle Festival so the rates could have been higher than normal for the room available to us. The loft style accommodation was quite uncomfortable with the bed upstairs overlooking a small seating area below. Since the bathroom was downstairs any late night visit meant turning on the stairway light which lit up the bedroom too. Upstairs was always too warm and downstairs too cool. The furnishings were quite institutional and were not in keeping with the old manor house style. It just seemed very basic.

Even though we needed to go directly to the bar to order drinks we did enjoy the bar/lounge during aperitivo. This is the one area of the hotel that felt as if it belonged in an old manor house with its parlour style setting and high arches. Dinner in their slow food restaurant was very good but not exceptional, although the wine list was extensive and well priced. The restaurant itself is a large rectangular room lacking in any character. I assume the food is suppose to be the highlight here but an inviting location makes a huge difference in ambiance. The restaurant was completely full and the waitstaff did an exceptional job keeping up with the diners. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was very good.

It was definitely worth a one night visit. The summer months would offer more variety too as we noticed an outdoor bar area, lovely swimming pool and grounds. Our one regret was not being able to take advantage of a lunch at the gastronomic university next door. This is something to research before visiting the area as they have visiting chefs from around the world who also prepare simple lunches for the students and lucky visitors during certain periods.
