We stayed for two nights at the beginning of June. 2 x mother and adult daughters. We were blessed with fabulous weather which I am sure influenced as having a wonderful time. The tree house is in a lovely spot by the river and as expected is in the trees so if you want to sit in the sun you need to row to the other side. It was very peaceful bar the frog chorus half the night which I understand is due it being mating season!!. I got up early one morning and sat by the edge of the river watching the mist rise with just the singing birds for company which was very special. It is near a very quaint village and only a few miles down the road a supermarket for supplies. There is however nowhere to keep food cold.
There is lots of information in the accommodation of things to do in the area and we hired canoes (about 4 miles away) and spend a lovely afternoon paddling down the river stopping off at our accommodation en route for lunch before continuing. Quite magical.
The down side for me was the eco-toilet which although changed everyday I found challenging. The nearest shower was also over the other side of the river which you needed to row to or take the car. They were on a campsite so very basic.
The people who managed the tree house were very friendly and very helpful and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. They got me extra pillows and catered for my friends wheat allergy. They were also very flexible on arrival time. Their English is basic so it helps if you can speak some French. Breakfast was a lovely basket of croissants, french bread and some fruit with hot and cold drinks sent up on a pulley. They will deliver what ever time suits you. We were able to eat breakfast outside on the balcony which was a real treat. There is also a BBQ for your use and on request they will provide the food for you. Check contents though as we were told we would get potato/chips but got pasta with the meat instead. A lovely place which I would recommend as great fun and something different. How many people do you know who can say they have stayed in a tree house!!!! Good value for money too.
