Bintan Lagoon Resort

The new ferry has started in July and it's great. No need to get the shuttle bus anymore. The ferry takes about an hour from Tanah Merah jetty in Singapore (near the airport) to the new hotel jetty where immigration is done upon arrival. So easy to get there now from Singapore. We had a lovely time. It's an impressive looking resort with beautiful tropical gardens. The pool is really nice and the beach is magnificent. Miles of white sand that is cleaned and groomed each day. You can even go skinny dipping if you walk out along the beach to the wonderful deserted sections further away, no other people, so peaceful!

The resort is fine, I didn't notice any run down or worn out areas. I guess any place that is not brand new could be renovated, but to me this resort is not at that stage yet. Our room faced out to the sea across the garden and it was so beautiful to sit on the balcony in the warm breeze. The room was clean and had a bath, yea! we love a bath in the room. It came supplied with bathroom extras such as shampoo, etc and had big fluffy towels. Although it was school holidays we didn't notice any excess noise and had a great sleep each night (and during the day!). We thought the food was fine, the breakfast buffet caters for all tastes and the small cafe next to reception had a great array of wraps, foccacias and all kinds of smoothies for lunch. Dinner at the Kopi O tam restaurant (same place as breakfast) at night was great also. We also ate at the beachside restaurant and it was a delicious meal sitting beside the ocean with candlelight; I mean really, it's heaven isn't it? The golf course is well run, great to play on and the golf club restaurant really nice. The food is good and you get to sit right next to the fairway and watch other golfers on their way in.

I would reserve my greatest praise for the staff; they are so genuinely friendly, they couldn't keep it up if they weren't. Everywhere we went it was no trouble for the staff to assist, from reception, business centre, golf course, restaurants, ferry, immigration, pool, even the gardeners stopped for a chat. I should mention that they also have villas for families and groups set along the beach and lots of activites for kids and grown ups

If you want a carefree, well maintained, easy to get to resort for couples or families or groups in the warm tropical sun where you can swim and golf and relax then this is the place

Room Tip: A sea facing room on the highest floor is lovely

Resort is aged and in a state of neglect. Whole of Bintan gives off the feel of glory days gone by. You just need to ride the rickety, old Bintan Lagoon transfer bus from the ferry terminal to the hotel to get an overall impression. Rooms and service are saving graces. Kopi-O cafe is what seriously needs an overhaul from housefly infestation!! One lunchtime, all we did was try to eat and chase what must have been 10 flies trying to get at our food the whole time. Everything is pricey from the bottled water to the spa. Many better destinations await, won't be returning.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time in sharing your feedback on this platform.

We would like to bring to your notice that we now have a direct ferry service to our resort’s doorstep which will save you the hassle of taking bus transfers.

Regarding price of drinks, Bintan as an island imports beverages from Singapore. However, we still aim to keep the prices of the food and drinks lower, and standards similar to what guests find in Singapore. Likewise for spa services, our prices are, if not lower, on par with what other five star resorts in Bintan charge.

Thank you for sharing with us your experience and we look forward to welcoming you back at our resort.

A Nice weekend getaway! Especially for the Golf Lovers and the Beach View! But the resort is poorly maintained and everything is pretty expensive. Especially the SPA.
We had booked a Seaview room, however the staff incharge said its a a sea facing room and not sea view. This is the first of its kind i came across such explanations.

Pricey resort, but not bad a place to get away from the city for 2-3 days. Although the place is a bit out-dated and not very well maintained, but overall impression is ok. Both service and room were ok, and my youngest daughter loved to dance on the raised platform in room. The pool was good and we had an excellent full body massage/spa treatment afterward. The buffet and a la carte menu at restaurants were ok, but due to limitation of F&B outlets, we were a bit bore of the same food on the 4th night. Nothing much to do at night. The nightclub was ok but without life as there were only 4-6 people (including us, maybe it was a Tuesday?). The place is good as a getaway for a few days, but maximum 3 days and no more. We enjoyed our stay at the Bingtan Lagoon Resort, but good for a repeat visit? probably not as I would rather spend my money exploring some other new places.

Travelled from Perth to Singapore (4 days) and, on the recommendation of the travel agent, booked 4 days at his resort. Totally unimpressed. As another reviewer has stated it was a case of "capitive indenture". The meal prices at the resort are exorbitant $38 an adult ++ (10% service charge and 10% GST) and $20 for a child (++). So for a family of 5 you are looking at about $156 for one meal. Then there are the extra's for wifi $10 SGD per hour or $20 a day, ping pong $3.50, tennis $20, etc etc. Oh, and those inflatable water balls that provide about 5 minutes of mild amusement for the kids -$8.50 each.
The resort is not close to anywhere so it is difficult to go out and buy supplies. Minimum hire of a car is for 4 hours at $20 SGD per hour. Hated the palce so much that Zwe cut our stay short and managed to get on the next days ferry back to Singapore. Would rather pay $500 a night for a decent hotel in Singapore than put up with being ripped off...
