The hotel positings itselfs as 3*** but looking like a prison inside.. Very old furniture, only 12 rooms have balconies, other rooms has no ventilation, windows aren't open, very dark ... Holes like in school-big and empty.. I dont know, why my feelings was like that, but one night only I could stay in this hotel.. We moved..

This resort is accessible from the Pantai Cenang beach, the largest and the commercial beach of langkawi. Swimming pool is available. Wifi and a in house restaurant is available. The hotel is surrounded by flea market, travel agent offices for booking island tours, eateries, pubs, juice corners etc. Since it is a beach front property the beach is accessible from the hotel at all times, lounge chairs are laid out too. Cleanliness is very well taken care of. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, every room has a view. We got a very good deal at a reasonable price. The front desk is very helpful. Taxis can be hailed from right in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Try booking the beach facing rooms

Langkawi is a beautiful island with some fantastic attractions to visit. We stayed for three nights, unfortunately in this hotel which is situated on the beach on which parties were held every evening starting around 10pm and only finishing between 4am and 6am on each occasion the noise was horrendous. Even after the parties had finished the noise continued by the so called 'guests' returning to their rooms shouting, slamming doors and running up and down corridors. This is certainly NOT a hotel that appears to welcome western visitors!
No alcohol is served in the hotel or around the outside pool area. Guests ignoring the sign to NOT enter the hotel having just left the pool turn the tiled flooring throughout the lobby area and the subsequent lift area into a serious injury waiting to happen. When the staff were asked if this rule could be enforced or if the floor could be dried, it was met with a shrug of the shoulders and what appeared to be a sarcastic grin.

I could go on for ever about the bad points of this hotel but I wont. It's time to mention the good ones, hmmmm! let me think, oh yes, you wont see any of our party again!

Room Tip: Look for another hotel.

Ideal location, if you are staying in Pantai Cenang; right on the beach and opposite Cenang Mall. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful and check-in and check-out were smooth. The family room we had was big enough for 4 of us. The room size at Best Star Resort is the biggest when compared with the same category hotels in the vicinity. There's no restaurant / breakfast at the property but there are eateries aplenty in the surroundings. Wireless Internet connection was good enough for normal use. Considering its 2-star status, Best Star Resort excels in most areas. Overall, value for money.

If you don't expect too much you won't be disappointed. We booked the seaview balcony room and it was ok with a great view. A good size, very clean with safe and mini bar and bed comfortable. But like the rest of the hotel it is not stylish or modern and the whole hotel needs a good makeover. The location is the winner here not the hotel features, although the pool is ok it's small and really suitable only for kids. Right on the beach and close to everything.
Be aware that for some very bizarre reason local authorities have let shisha trucks operate on the beach, which is ok but they also play very loud music, sorry, I mean Doof Doof noise until 4am in the morning!!! The hotels in the area don't seem to care and neither do the police. It spoiled our stay and we won't be back.
