We were hiking with my mum for a week in Scotland and Dale & Julia's place was absolutely the best of the best, a holidays dream come true. Even now, having returned home and after days have passed, we are still enthusiastically telling everyone about the great experience we had.

Some of the reasons this will be the perfect place for travelers:
1. The serenity of this location - the croft has a large yard and garden, which extends to the Loch, and past the sheep and ponies you can walk along the pebble/stone beach. Only a few other crofts around, and a little cafe - make Onich an adorable place.
2. The breakfast and the view from the breakfast room - all set with simplicity and taste, overlooking the Loch, we could sip on coffee for hours just admiring that view. The selection is generous and we found something for each day.
3. The proximity - we were traveling by public transport, so looked for a place connected by buses. This was perfect, less than 5 minutes walk is the bus station for a few routes which make the connection between Fort William and Glencoe / Balahuchilish bridge but also continue towards Glasgow. Dale was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us some great tips on hiking routes for different times of days and complexity levels. Do the Pap of Glencoe hike if you are in the area.
4. The room and facilities - everything was clean, the room was spacious, beds comfy, nice to also have a separate lounge area, we had everything we could ask for.
5. And above all - the people. Dale and Julia have big hearts and shine their warmth on others, we so much enjoyed meeting them. The communication was always quick by mail, plenty of good advice and they made this into a very special memory.

We hope to be back

Home from home!! Lovely warm welcome from the whole family, Dale and Julia are such lovely friendly people and they have very polite and well behaved children. It was such a joy to spend the weekend there, clean, comfortable and WOW what views, we so enjoyed eating breakfast (which was SUPERB!!) taking in the breath-taking scenery, we think on the whole it is excellent value for money BUT the family make it even more special. Thankyou for a fantastic stay, we will definitely be back!!!!!!!! xx

We really enjoyed our stay at Dale and Julia's cottage. Dale was very friendly and greeted us on arrival. He told us that we could use the 2 fields at the back of the house to exercise our 2 dogs. They loved it when we took them down to the edge of the loch where the scenery was spectacular. We love Glencoe and Onich is a very short drive away. There are some very good walks in the area.
The cottage was beyond our expectations in cleanliness and comfort. A huge bonus was the wet room and would highly recommend it for anyone needing wheelchair access.
Would definitely visit again

I can not rate this beautiful place enough! The caravan was perfect with everything we needed for our stay, the welcome pack was a fantastic addition. Fresh milk, eggs and bread. The grounds were perfect for the kids to play in with swings, climbing frame, trampoline and sand pit. Dale and Julia were so welcoming and their local knowledge was spot on and perfect for our days out. The Loch beach is 2 minutes away where campfires are a must!

Dale and Julia and the kids were lovely! And the location is perfect. Dale told us about the Hidden Valley hike, and it was the most beautiful hike I'd ever done, and perfect for the kids, 11 and 9. The rooms are very quiet and clean and comfortable, and Dale has all the info for eating out and hikes and places to go. They go above and beyond to make guests happy...Dale even made me his special porridge for breakfast!
