We wanted a short break away and saw this great offer on groupon and snapped it up! The only room left was one with a seperate bathroom however this was still beautiful and did not put us off at all!
The staff were very helpful and made our stay even better! The food was excellent and we could not fault it at all!
Parking was abit of a nightmare however with the excellent humour of the staff and organisation this was dealt with well!
Deffinately return if we ever in the area again! And reccomend to all!

Have just read some of the reviews for The Guildhall Tavern and cannot believe some of the negative comments. Am currently staying at the hotel, my last night of three and it has been an absolute delight. The staff could not be more helpful, in particular the breakfast staff who also do the housekeeping. The rooms are spacious, well decorated with a touch of class. The pub and restaurant are friendly and inviting and the food would be hard to beat. If you are looking for a break in this part of Wales, then I don't believe you could do any better than here.
Judge it for yourself and you will see how good it is.

stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 18th and 19th July. I must say that we found the hotel to be very good in all aspects. Our room was quirky with a lovely modern bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy. The bed and pillows we found to be very good. We took our dog with us and she was treated as well as we were. There was no charge for her where as there is in other hotels of similar price and quality. The breakfast was of excellent quality and the quantity was second to none. We decided to eat in the hotel on both nights and again the quality of the food was of excellent standard. The staff were attentive and friendly and very informative about the this historic building and the local area.I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Not sure why previous reviewers slate the bed and pillows. We stayed in the Denbigh Suite for 3 nights and found the bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the food and especially the breakfast was excellent. It would have been nice to have had an ironing board, hairdryer and box of tissues in the room.

Thankfully we secured a deal like many other reviewers. The staff were friendly but appeared a little disorganised.

The Dinbych Suite was lovely, Plenty of power points, mirrors in good locations. Quality furniture. The Bathroom was excellent, twin basins with heated mirrors, they don't mist up when using the shower or bath. With all this attention to detail why oh why have the most uncomfortable mattress and flat pillows. This was mentioned by a previous reviewer, I had hoped the management would have made the changes.

The uncomfortable bed ensured that a poor nights sleep was guaranteed. The room benefitting from the bar music and then people leaving the bar and waiting for Taxis. I am sure we would have slept through the noise if we had been comfortable.

The cooked breakfast was substantial and tasty.

Come on Guildhall, you are almost there.
