This is a special place, created and managed with a great deal of thought and flair. Our family Sunday lunch was quite delicious - high quality and interesting ingredients cooked beautifully. My skate wing was the best of a great many skate wings I've eaten over the years. Lamb and beef also top notch and unusually, vegetarian dishes that stand up in their own right , not just to tick the box, Staff clearly happy and engaged with good knowledge of wine and confident in their recommendations. Sublime Somerset setting

My partner and I booked a bed and breakfast room here and we were so impressed with the absolutely stunning pub, restaurant, gorgeous room and facilities.
We highly recommend you book here if you’re going to visit this part of Somerset. We visited Wells which was fabulous!!

We received a really warm welcome from Caroline, Alan, John and team.
The decor is classy, plush and incorporates all of the original features of this beautiful building. Large well kept gardens boasting home grown produce and beautiful flowers. Outdoor dining an option if you prefer and is covered with a stylish Capri style marquee in case of inclement weather.

The bar and restaurant were exquisitely decorated with tasteful pictures, open fire and original historical brickwork.
The attention to detail and all of the classy extras and finishing touches to the restaurant and the accommodation give the wow factor.

Plenty of drinks choices on tap and offers a great local ciders too.
We chatted to the friendly staff who gave us some top tips on local attractions and even the best places to park when sightseeing.

The room we stayed in was impeccably decorated, spotless, our huge king sized bed was furnished with high end bedding and super comfy. There was ample tea and coffee making facilities, large wardrobe, fan, hairdryer and the bathroom was spotless with high end fluffy bath sheets!
The view of Somerset and the sunset was amazing from our bedroom window!

We ate in the busy restaurant (Sunday lunch) the food was absolutely stunning! Choice, presentation, quality ingredients and flavours were of top restaurant quality.
All seasoned and sumptuous! The chef here is truly talented!

Our breakfast was utterly delicious, fabulous menu choices of both hot and cold dishes - continental pastries, home made granola with juicy berries and hot food made to order from the kitchen. You can tell the ingredients, presentation and flavours were of top quality and the service was perfect. Linen napkins, tableware and glassware with individual fresh jams and condiments readily available.

This hidden gem really is too good to miss!

We felt were utterly spoilt here and will definitely return. Great car parking too and the views of Somerset are beautiful.

Thank you Caroline, Alan and team for such a superb break.

We stayed in Room 8 at the top of the house for 3 nights. The king sized bed was very comfy and we slept really well. The en-suite had a separate shower and free standing bath.
The delicious food at breakfast and dinner was beautifully presented and freshly cooked using local ingredients.
The staff team were friendly and helpful, the service was fantastic and it was lovely to sit in the garden enjoying the view.
Thank you so much for a lovey relaxing stay.

Our 2 night stay in the Roost was everything we had hoped for and more. Beautiful surroundings. Super comfortable with a perfect attention to detail. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and informative. All the staff were attentive and polite. We had dinner which exceeded expectations. The menu is packed with fresh local ingredients and put together in a way that works well and would happily compete with any Michelin dining experience. Would highly recommend and we hope to visit again soon .

Thank you to Alan, Caroline and all the staff at The Holcombe Inn for the luxury, relaxation and delicious menu they provided for us when we stayed with them for a few days. Beautiful surroundings inside and out, vegetables fresh from the garden and lovely people. A gem in the West Country.
