Balloons, card and chocolates in the room for my birthday! Beautiful old building, lots of amazing history to it! and the spa is top class and my treatment was lovely! Couldn’t fault the food or friendly members of staff!

We stayed for a Sunday and Monday night, and we had a wonderful time. Emma who looked after us at breakfast was fantastic, the food wholesome and high quality. We had a slight issue with the bed, and the response was above and beyond our expectation, well done on 1st class customer service. The Spa, wow, just wonderful the best Spa in this part of the country by far.

Booked here for a family meal to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, we also booked an overnight stay for my parents so they could take full advantage of all Boringdon had to offer. The Rose room for the meal was beautifully decorated and the food absolutely fantastic, served by a friendly and professional team. The kitchen team in particular fully deserve their triple rosette award. The room in which my parents stayed overnight in was also fabulous, decorated with balloons along with chocolates, card and prosecco for my mum, a lovely touch, beautiful courtyard room with lovely views of the garden and very peaceful. The Spa, as quoted by many , was second to none and so relaxing and a must do. I would in particular like to thank Amber and team who went above and beyond to make my mum's birthday celebrations so special, she left the hotel feeling extremely spoilt and pampered. Thank you all so much for a lovely night

Boringdon hall promotes itself as a 5* establishment, which is a shame, because it is not!

It is an excellent 3* hotel with a 5* spa, but the standard of service, accommodation and facilities simply do not correspond to a five star rating. And to be fair, the room rates are reflective of a lower star rating. Over-promoting yourself can lead to unrealistic expectations, which was perhaps the case with our stay.

Our Courtyard room was absolutely adequate and clean, but dated - probably not renovated since 1980’s. This means no separate shower but an ‘over the bath’ installation. The furniture was dated and a little tatty. Our bed and pillows were, however, comfortable.

We ate in both The Mayflower and Gallery restaurants. Food was pretty good whilst not being particularly memorable. The Mayflower offers ‘Gastronomic’ dining, but the whole meal was lacking a little finesse with spa staff waiting the tables still dressed in relaxed spa uniforms!

The spa is why you would visit Boringdon. Outstanding facility on a par with any in the UK. Our treatments were also very good and professional.

Baring in mind the overall cost of our stay, I would say we were happy but would probably not return. A location as amazing as Boringdon Hall deserves some serious investment to return it to 5* Country House standard.

Dear CPHo_o,

Disappointing to read you review, sorry to learn that you do not see us as a 5 star establishment.

The big majority of our review do praise the high standard of the Spa, Hotel and our food in both restaurants who are a reflection of the 5 star rating.

Please accept my apologise for your experience and I do hope you will give us another try in the future.

Regards,
