We stayed at this hotel for a week 11th to 18 October on the all-inclusive package. The last time I went on an all-inclusive holiday was back in 1996 and it was a nightmare. What you had for dinner was your warmed up lunch the next day so I did not really know what to expect and was a little bit apprehensive. The food however in our opinion was outstanding and even the most fussy eater would not go hungry lots of selection everything fresh you could see into the kitchen where meals were being prepared. Just make sure you leave room for your desert. The hotel restaurant was run like clockwork very clean welcoming and the staff were outstanding.

We had a room on the on the first floor which overlooked the pool and gardens and you could just about see the sea. Our room was spacious the decor very modern and we were equipped with a TV,fridge, kettle and there is a hairdryer in the bathroom we had a few issues with the safe however a quick call to reception and it was sorted. There was also a sofa in our room which doubled up as a foldaway bed. Bedlinen and towels were changed regularly and I cannot state how comfortable the bed was. It's a divan bed with a really thick mattress and the pillows were just so fluffy and comfortable.

The hotel is just a short walk away from its own private beach you can ask for a ticket at reception for the sunbeds and parasols. The hotel will also provide you with beach/pool towels but there is a small charge if you want to change them during your stay. The beach is clean and not overcrowded and is combed over every evening/morning. There is also a lifeguard on the beach and he will also come and brush off your sunbeds and put up your parasol for you when you arrive.

The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the main square in Marina Di Ragusa and is situated in what I would describe as a residential area. It was very quiet and not many shops open but this was due to the late season and I can imagine that in the high season it would be extremely busy. We did however go on 2 trips organised by Thomas Cook and were really impressed. They are a little expensive but well worth it. We went to Mount Etna and Taormina and Syracuse. The tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and speak English. It is well worth getting out on a trip as then you experience the true Sicily.

Thomas Cook rate this as a 4star hotel yet the hotels official website rates it as a 3star it is definitely heading in the right direction although there are a couple of things that could be improved on such as the check-in time as you have to wait for your room but we were on an early flight from Birmingham and the Thomas Cook rep, Angie promised to have everyone checked in by 1 PM and she delivered on that promise. Angie actually lived in the hotel she was always on hand if there was a problem or question.

Finally we would like to thank the management and all the staff particularly Gianni Who remembered everybody's drink when they went up to the bar, Vanessa who always asked about out day, Maria the lovely receptionist for whom nothing was a problem and Raimondo who was always busy in the restaurant yet always had a moment for everyone.

We would definitely recommend this hotel and couldn't find any fault with it at all. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Had a great week (Oct 11th to 18th), at Acacia Marina, we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything about the hotel suited us perfectly. Our room was modern and bright and had everything we needed. We were very impressed that our sheets and towels were changed twice during our stay and on one occasion when I had put a hand towel in the shower, a new one was put in it's place straight away.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the hotel. There was a great choice of food at every meal, it was really nice to try authentic Sicilian food. The new pastry chef excelled himself.
The position of the hotel is very good, a two minute walk to the private beach and a fifteen minute leisurely stroll to Ragusa Di Marina. We went on the Montalbano trip organized by the rep and had a really good full day out.
We met lots of nice people during our stay and we always had company during the evenings so entertainment wasn't necessary. We were pleased we had chosen the all inclusive tariff and felt it was good value for money.
We would both recommend this holiday and would love to return in the Spring.

Acacia Hotel, Ragusa, Sicily.
The best all inclusive holiday we have ever had, thanks to everyone involved - especially Co-op Travel at Lydney who made the suggestion.
Let's start from the beginning. We arrived at the hotel about 10.30 am local time. Smiling and friendly staff greeted us with a drink having survived the horrors of Birmingham airport and its chaos. [n.b. Thomas Cook, don't you have any influence - you must pay them enormous sums for this privilege?]
Our room had marvellous views of the twinkling sea from sunrise to sunset.
Five minutes to the beach and a proper sun lounger. Lunch, where an extensive menu awaited - my favourite part was the desserts. I think a Micheline Pastry Chef was in attendance. Afternoon on the beach with four swims in all. Dinner - we were spoilt again. Coach tours were available: Etna [too long], Inspector Montalbano, Sicli, and countryside, fascinating but too long. Siracusa, Modica and Noto - chocoholics beware - too long. What lovely friendly people the Sicilians are. The stars of the trip were TC Rep Ange, Hotel receptionist Maria, Maitre de of the restaurant and all his staff. Last but not least our charming cleaning lady who kept our room pristine clean. We didn't meet the manager, but as they say, a ship is only as good as its captain which you could see in your smiling happy staff. Thank you for such a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies are the best.

Stayed for a fortnight and enjoyed every day. the staff were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. In the restaurant we were always attended quickly and the food was varied and well presented. The room was plenty large enough for the relatively small amount of time we spent in it and there was enough storage for a fortnight's worth of clothes. The area around the pool was always busy but there was never a shortage of sun beds. The hotel also had a private section of the beach, 5 minutes walk away, which had more restaurants, sun beds, lifeguards and was usually a little cooler than around the pool because of the very welcome sea breezes. The sea was beautifully clear and the beach kept very clean. The town was near enough to walk to easily and had a good selection of cafes and restaurants but if shopping is one of your chief holiday activities then you would probably find it short of shops. We went on a number of trips arranged by our holiday rep, all of which were enjoyable some where also quite educational. The Thomas Cook rep. Angie was very helpful and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
