It is a mistake of me to choose to come to a park famous for flowers in Autumn. Worse still, I visited the place the day after a day of heavy snowfall. Yes, it is only Nov and yet Japan had this heavy snow. The entire ground was covered white . So are the trees and their red or golden leaves. One of the main attractions of the park is the so called "tree caves"., which I managed to visit and find it quite interesting. Years ago, when the volcano erupted, the lava covered up some fallen trees. Later, the tree decayed and the lava hardened up, leaving a cluster of tunnel-like caves. The park is large, and I am sure it is a perfect place for a family outing in Spring or Summer. To overseas visitors, the biggest reward is likely the unobstructed, full view of Mount Fuji.
