Cheap and extremely cheerful

We loved staying two nights at this very reasonably priced resort. Our beach front bungalow was a tad tired but had every we needed. Big comfy bed, wifi, kettle, fridge, huge bathroom and shower. Sliding doors to the deck literally three metres from the sea was our HQ for breakfast sunbathing and sunsets. Lovely to wake to the sounds of the sea. We forgo the breakfast buffet and I boil up eggs in the kettle for a lovely early start of byo juice, coffee, local baguette with delicious cheese.
The resort is pretty quiet in March. We ate in the restaurant on our first night from a fixed price menu. Simple Caesar salad entree followed by entrecote, we had low expectations but it was surprisingly good. The staff really make this place special. Super friendly and smiles from everyone. Apart from wonderful beachcombing there is a cool little pool and a not outrageously priced bar for cocktails.
We spent one day exploring further up the interesting coast in our car, we should have bought a packed lunch, it really is remote and we couldn't find anywhere open for lunch. Supermarket was five minutes away for beer and wine, the local bakery does really good bread and the best tarte au citron we've ever had, so good we stopped the next day for two more on our way out of town. The last night we had excellent local pizza in a box, whilst we snorkeled and watched the sun dip. I wished we'd stayed for a further couple of days. This place is so relaxing, the perfect place to read, play cards, swim, snorkel, collect shells and watch the stars.

Quiet, beautiful corner of New Caledonia

This was our first visit to New Caledonia, and we really liked this resort. It was winter so the weather wasn't always good for being at the beach, but it was beautiful never the less. The staff was always helpful to us non-French speakers, and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. The family bungalow was clean and comfortable, although our son found the beds in his half of the bungalow a bit too firm. The layout of the resort is nice and helps keep things quiet. We'd like to come back when it's warmer and try a trip out to Tibarama Island.

Beautiful beach front bungalow

We had a magical 4 day stay on the beach front, large rooms with spectacular views. It was so hard to get out of bed to go for breakfast each morning.
Make sure you go snorkeling on the reef with Aqualagoon.

So much potential - need stricter management

We spent 2 nights at the hotel in a family bungalow. Actually we had to rent the two sides of the bungalow as we were 2 adults and 2 kids...but in my opinion one room with bed-sofa or mobile beds would have done it also. It’s not really family with small kids friendly, as there is no door connecting the 2 sides of the bungalow, so each adult had to sleep with a kid.
Rooms could need some design refresh but look nice otherwise. One room had aircon smelling like cold cigarette. Otherwise rooms were clean.
Major issue was the restaurant: we got charged with plates we never ordered, price-quality was quite a rip-off, some food was simply not good (over/under cooked) etc. prices of the Sheraton but 1/4 of the quality. One day there was no bread for breakfast, we often saw birds/cats eating from dishes outside as service was slow to clean up - actually even left stuff outside overnight.
Finally, if you have small kids, the pool’s fence is completely useless...kids can enter and go out at their ease. Be warned.

We went on a 3h trip to a small isolated Island which is roughly 20 min from the hotel (60$ for the family, reservation on the hotel parking) which I can definitively recommend. Great trip.

Dear Guest,

I already returned a mail to the chef regarding the food. Hosnestly, at the present moment, I can say that we do not have that much problem described onto your message. You have of course the right to don't like, but I take example with fishes, now it is perfect from my taste and for many guests.

For the cats, we have two, and never I saw them on any tables. We keep them because they chase some anmals that no one want to see, especially in a tropical zone. For birds, sorry I can't do anything.

Average resort style hotel in a great location

We really loved this part of the coast, friendly smiling people, nice clean beaches and stunning views. You don't have a lot of accommodation options on this part of the coast. We chose one of the hotel rooms for two nights. The staff were pleasant, the pool area is nice and the beach & ocean are beautiful. The restaurant was decidedly average which kind of let the side down but there are interesting simple dining options in Poindeme so it wasn't an issue for us. The internet connection varied between ok and poor, it would go really slowly then suddenly it was fine, you need to be patient. You're hear for the beach not the internet.

Room tip: Unless you really want that 'resort feel' pop into town to dine

Dear Nonenz

Located where we are, we don not have to much choice for internet. This is the end of the world, so it is better this than nothing.
After on vacations, to have internet (for tv it is the same I think), it is not the most important, but fell rested, and to appreciate the nature all around brings what we are missing daily into our life.
