We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Colibri. The rooms are spacious, well designed, and furnished to a very good standard. The bathroom facilities (and supplied amenities) are excellent. The sound proofing is good - one evening a loud function at La Nea next door scarcely could be heard in our room. The hotel provides breakfast - adequate but not more. They have decided that with the other dining options in Kone (we tried three) there is little point in competing and we agree. It is a simple walk to La Nea next door; a possible walk but really a short drive to Chez Kiwi, and a short drive to Koniambo Hotel. There are at least another 3 recommended dinner options. You need a car to get to Kone and to stay there, and as the capital of the Northern Province it is a thriving and rapidly growing service town. But we found Kone a good base for a variety of local attractions including the coffee museum at Voh, the beach at Gatope, and the "transversale" - across the mountain chain to the East Coast. Manicured grounds and a small but good pool complete the complex. Recommended.More
