Best place to be in Koné...very friendly staff, very clean and modern rooms..everything was perfect..they only serve breakfast, it gave us the opportunity to eat out for the meals. I'll definitely go back..

A small and immaculately kept hotel, excellent for a short stay to the north-west coast of New Caledonia. Very good value for money. It has no restaurant but the Hotel La Nea, which is right next door, serves meals all day.

Modern hotel, easy to find 200m off the main NR1 road a couple of km drive north of Kone, twenty minutes south of Voh.

Comfy beds, fridge, good internet, excellent showers (Swiss, not French), no restaurant except for simple buffet breakfast (with a twist: many hotels have toasters but this hotel has an egg cooker - looks like a toaster (nobody believes me when I tell them this, but it's true) and you just plonk your raw egg(s) in, set the temperature and take it (them) out when you think they're done. Now we all know where in the 30-90C range we need to be to make our eggs go hard and for how long, don't we ? I never knew I didn't know how to boil an egg ...

As a tourist you're here to ses the Heart of Voh, right ? Just drive along to the Eco Musee in Voh in the morning (it's well signposted) and they will help you find a guide. Why morning ? Well unless you particularly want a picture with the sun in your lens (and some people do, but you better be a good photographer and more) that's the time to go. 9 000 fr for the privilege of a 4WD plus guide. If it's cold and sunny and you are happy to ascend 700 metres you will need to ask someone where to start the walk. Once you know where to begin it's a well marked steep 4WD track for you too. In theory you could mountain bike it, I don't have the experience to judge how dangerous the descent is. Helitours will get you closer and empty your wallet even more quickly of course ..

Regular business stay at this very nice B&B from the main road RT1 in Koné. Warm welcoming and very peaceful garden and Pool. The rooms are fresh and always very clean which is not the case everywhere in Koné, and well decorated. Good quality bedding and very calm at night makes makes it an ideal spot for the after work rest. The breakfast is optional, and very basic, which makes it a little overpriced. You will find a restaurant not far (2 min walk) on the side as there is an hotel next to this property. Would recommend for the constancy in the level of service, the location, and calm nights.

Room tip: The first level rooms are more expensive.

The Colibri Hotel is the most recent addition to the hotels in Kone, and the quality of build, room size, bed, wifi internet, cleanliness makes the others look quite aged.
Excluding breakfast, it does not have a restaurant, so dinner requires going somewhere else.
Sure enough, upon leaving I had forgotten my contact lenses case... THe hotel staff called my colleagues to advise, and I could recoup it later that day, before travelling back to Nouméa.
