Good but not deluxe ski/out resort geared to families rather than couples. All rooms are duplexes I believe. They are not soundproof; on certain days, we had disruptive noise from the children from the higher floor till very late at night. We then decided to sleep in the less comfortable beds on the lower floor. Great views over mountains and volcanoes. Great daily seafood buffet, exceptionally well priced given the quality and quantity of offerings. Breakfast is very good as well, but tends to be very crowded, as most people wish to have breakfast at around 830/9am . The buffet closes at 10am in the main restaurant and 930am in the smaller restaurant.
The on-site ski rental shop is messy and unsuitable for advanced skiers, as only basic skis are on offer, and they seem to lack longer skis required by tall skiers. If you are in this category, I recommend renting directly from the Salomon expert ski rental shop on the other side of the resort. The shop also erroneously billed me for 2 items, which were corrected upon check out after review by the staff, and the hotel apologized.
The spa/onsen is dated and could be made a lot better, given the overall price range of this hotel. There is no pool. Marriott Platinum benefits are recognized and were very much appreciated. More
