The location of the hotel is wonderful as you are right on the main plaza in town and just a short walk to the river. The room was small and comfortable, but was nothing special or interesting. There are some lovely views from some of the terraces from the hallways although our room did not have a balcony or terrace. The restaurant where breakfast was served, Don Peperone wasn't anything unique although the breakfast was well-stocked and ample. At first it seem as if Don Peperone was really the only place in town, but actually doing a little exploring we came across a number of other restaurants not too far from the hotel, including a few parillas. A decent place to rest for a night or two.

We stayed in room 117 on the first floor and our friends stayed in 311. Lucky we only had one bag as the rooms are quite small. They have been remodeled, as has the whole hotel. It was clean, modern and functional, but small and a bit uninspired. Both rooms smelled musty but in both cases this cleared after a few hours running the air-con. To be honest I expected more for the money

They do have secured parking at the rear of the hotel, but only for a few cars, and at 5pm I found that there were no more spaces. On inquiry at reception it was suggested that I park my car at a public garage a few blocks away. There was no offer to compensate me for the expense. The following day at midday I was able to park in the hotel car park, but due to all the one way streets it turned out to be a rather complex manoeuvre to reach the car park.

Back to the hotel, the reception is eye catching and comfortable and lives up to the $90 price tag. The staff are OK if a bit uninspired and the restaurant was average.

Best feature of this hotel is the location, right on the main town plaza, and behind a yummy ice cream shop that stays open late. Second best was the cable TV. They had lots of movie channels to choose from. We watched some interesting movies on TrueTV.

Finally, check-out was painfully slow. They are not yet computerized and all the invoicing is done by hand.

Allthough clean, comfortable and spacious, it lacks caractor. Breakfast is served next door in the Don Peperone restaurant and it has ample parking in the rear. Nicely situated on the plaza diaconal across from the beautifull cathedral.

Good location. Convenient parking in their own courtyard. Modern place, international style. Very good breakfast in the restaurant next door. Only negative thing is the gym. The treadmills are either broken or make a lot of noice and can not maintain pace. But, if you're not have to make use of those facilities, this is an excellent place.

This is a probably the nicest hotel in Mercedes, although, saying that, I don´t think it has many competitors. The hotel is modern and comfortable, although it feels a little bland. For roughly $70, I had a smallish, modern clean room with airconditioning, cable TV, minibar and a reasonably comfortable double bed. The buffet breakfast was perfectly acceptable, although nothing special. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and free internet access. Like the hotel, Mercedes itself is a perfectly nice place to lay your head and nose around for a day or two, but there is nothing special to keep you in either Mercedes or the hotel for much longer.
