Zamora Estate Hotel
Ranked #4 of 5 Santa Ana B&B and Inns
Reviewed 25 July 2016

Zamora Estate Hotel is a lovely old home in a beautiful setting. Roman and Anna are incredible hosts--friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfasts are superb and Anna is an outstanding cook if you eat any other meals there. Zamora is particularly a great place for those who are interested in natural history and/or birding. Very nice pool, vineyards, and short but interesting trails. The facilities are very clean and rooms are spacious. The grounds are beautiful, if a bit ragged (in a typical Costa Rican fashion). I will be back! Zamora is highly, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Cabin #2 had very nice view of one of the ponds

The grounds of Zamora Estate are fabulous. The small lake, estuary, swimming pool and vineyard are beautiful. But, you must check out the restaurant, Cafe Lago with a view of the estuary. The food is an eclectic fusion of international and Costa Rica dishes. Sunset is breathtaking as the birds populate the estuary at this time. A great place for a sunset cocktail before dinner or a relaxing lunch and walk down to the lake. This is a great place to have events, so make sure to call before you go as it may be reserved for a private party.

Room Tip: I believe there are only 3 or 4 wooden cabins, secluded and rustic charm. Cabins overlook the lake a...

What a beautiful property and lovely family welcome by the owners. After birding throughout Costa Rica for ten days this was our finally night celebrated with the Zamora family. I have savored this evening for some time before posting this review. For it was a privilege to share their home and their company. Comfortable, casual and elegant. dinner was superb, thank you Ana.

Andy Rudy, I hope I have identified these birds correctly!

The Zamora Estate Hotel is conveniently just a short trip from the international airport. I started and ended my Costa Rican adventure at Zamora spending three nights there at the begining of my vacation and 2 nights at the end. The grounds are stunning with lots of wildlife. The rooms are spacious and charming, and beautifully decorated with local wood throughout. There is air conditioning, ceiling fan and private raised balcony with views across the pretty Estate in every room. The food and the hospitality was incredible - the owners Ana and Roman are passionate about Zamora which makes this place so special . The service is very personal and you do feel like you are at home. With only four detached bungalows it is never crowded. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Costa Rica and you must stay for more than one night........

Room Tip: All of the rooms are equally well placed and furnished to the same high standard

This was our first stop on our Costa Rican second honeymoon. Very private bungalow, nicely appointed, large bathroom, and huge shower. Grounds are beautiful, trails throughout, with the beginings of a vineyard on the back of the property. Food was absolutely delicious! I had the pan seared snook, it melted in my mouth! Very personal staff and owner. Will definately consider the Zamora when we revisit the beautiful country of Costa Rica!
