Description: There's a warm welcome waiting for you at The Railway Inn, Framlingham. Redecorated by the new owners, Barry and Liz Jones, this is a truly traditional English Pub with a large front bar which boasts bar stools, bar seating area and dining tables, not to mention the best seats in the house, two Edwardian wingbacks in front of the real open fire. The railway also has it's very own snug bar, for quiet dining and private conversation, you'll love the warm and cosy atmosphere. Add to these bars the sports bar, with Pool, Darts and SKY Sports on the big screen, the Railway has it all! Barry, owner and Chef, provides truly gorgeous food at exceptional prices to make your tum and pocket happy. Lovely gardens out back for the summertime and paved area to the side which is a real suntrap.

If you intend eating here you usually need to book as it is very popular. It is sort of a near gastro-pub. But not too poncey. And well worth a visit if you are from outside the area. Locals will know it!

Enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal for Fathers Day. Lovely big prawns in the prawn cocktail and the roast beef was delicious. Proper cooking, home made roasties and yorkies.

Very friendly and polite staff, thoroughly enjoyable meal. Highly recommed.

Exceeded expectations as we expected good standard pub fayre, what we got was excellent, and filling portions with yummy home made colesalw
Homemade lasagne was as good as lasagne can be, my rack of pork ribs was also top drawer.
Friendly efficient service, Adnams beers
Oh yes, there was also an embarrassing fumble involving the card payment machine and a half pint of Ghost Ship- staggering how far half a pint will flow, and luckily the machine still worked afterwards.
The staff were really nice about this (if they were cursing my clumsiness inside, thy hid it really well)

Came here to watch the Champions League final and even though the night was disappointing especially if you were a Liverpool supporter the general atmosphere was jovial and friendly.
The staff behind the bar were excellent as they were rushed off their feet especially at half time and the end of the game but they kept everyone happy with their good humour and quick service.
We didn't get to eat here but the food looked good so will definitely be back when we next visit.

We ate on a Monday based on a recommendation from a friend. We were two couples, and despite arriving rather early for our reservation we were warmly welcomed by a very pleasant lady and shown to our table. The Railway is one of those unpretentious town pubs that does the most delicious food and provides excellent service in a quiet, efficient way. It's an Adnams house, by the way, the the men thoroughly enjoyed their pints of Ghost Ship. Our meals arrived promptly and were beautifully presented. Between us we had fish and chips (excellent), steak and ale pie (5-star!) and a chicken and bacon salad (10/10). Absolutely no complaints about anything - all delicious, hot and tasty, and sensibly priced. The pub quickly filled up with other couples lunching, so it's reputation really is well-deserved. Highly recommended.
