For years my wife and I have travelled to France (near Cognac) to celebrate her birthday and Bastille Day, 14th July, which is a public holiday in France. I kid her that the massive firework displays are for her.
We have always used this this hotel/motel as a convienient half way house to stop the night before.
On 13July 2015 we did the same again. When we arrived, we were informed that because it was the DAY BEFORE the public holiday, the restaurant was not open.
We were offered a microwave frozen meal by way of repast. We drove from England to France for this?
Because I did not want to drink and drive, we obtained a taxi to the nearest restaurant. Total price 60 euros return.
None of this is intended to be a critisim of the poor receptionist. She did everything she could to help us.
I wrote to the management and told them I would be writing a review, with, or without their comments.

To date I have heard nothing. Normally a nice place, but Public holidays, or THE DAY BEFORE forget it

One night stay on business trip.
Room was okay and welcome was warm. My welcome drink as a platinimum card holder was a small bottle of mineral water! Not acceptable and very poor!
Hotel is in a gated industrial park off the autoroute.
Clean, presentable but not a destination hotel.
Breakfast was usual Ibis standard for France.

We have been using this hotel for a number of years and whilst it is no holiday destination, it is perfect for the traveller. The disabled accommodation is great, though there is not a twin bed option which is my only negative comment. There food is great, even when on the room service, weekend menu and there is no chef.

Clean, fairly basic, cheap and convenient if you're doing business in the immediate area.
Really friendly staff and a good quality restaurant for lunch or dinner.
Not a lot else in the area unless you have a car.
About 15 - 20 minutes by taxi from Nantes Airport and will cost you approx' €35.00

Room Tip: It's on an industrial estate so all the rooms tend to be quiet once the offices have all closed and you'll get a good nights sleep

We stopped over here on our way to the ferry - no booking was required but it was off season. The only off-putting thing was accessing it! We saw if from the motorway, but when we took the slip road we went round in circles until we came to a roundabout with a closed gate, intercom and code-access but no proper signage at all.
That said, the receptionist was lovely, apologetic - tho' it wasn't her fault and spoke perfect English. It was after 10:30 so the restaurant was closed but there was no problem ordering from the bar / snack menu which from previous experience at an Ibis hotel, we knew to be good.
Rooms were quiet comfortable and very warm with really soft pillows, shower was hot and spacious.
The buffet breakfast next day was very good and carried a wide selection of breads, pastry, fruit, cheeses (even blue cheese!), ham, yogurt, cereals, juice and hot drinks.
The receptionist even got us a coffee and croissant on departure which is always a nice touch when you have a long journey ahead.
There's even a pool onsite so bring your swimsuit if you want a refreshing dip
