I booked without a recommendation but am more than happy to give one. The accommodation was comfortable and the welcome warm. An unusual plus was the separate private sitting room - able to watch late night telly without getting a crook neck in bed! Kippford is in a fabulous location and the view when first waking is delightful. Good walks straight from the door.

We have been coming to Rosemount since 2003 (even before Don and Vanessa's time) every 2-4 years and it just gets better and better. This time the rooms have been upgraded to luxurious suites, and breakfast is served n the conservatory at the front with the distraction of the bird life on the shoreline. But Don and Vanessa don't change and still provide a fantastic breakfast and a wonderful welcome. Thankyou!!

We have stayed at Rosemount for the last ten years, and we now go twice per year. Doesn't this say it all? It is immaculate yet homely. The suite is luxurious yet comfortable with stunning views. The breakfasts are amazing and cut out the need for lunch. Don and Vanessa have become friends and they make us so welcome. Why else would we keep going back if it wasn't perfect?

We stayed here recently for 5 nights. We booked rather late and the only room left was the annex. The annex is at the rear of the property, up a flight of steps. it is very well apointed, Everything has been thought of. Good tv with Sky, cds and dvds a plenty. The whole of the room and bathroom was extremely clean. The bed, a king size was very comfortable and the room was centrally heated with a radiator. There was another plug-in radiator to top up but we didn't need it. For breakfast, there was a good selection of cereals, fruit and nuts, juices, and well cooked bacon and all the usual including a very nice Haggis! (When in Scotland). The B and B is right on the front so you can admire the view as you have breakfast. Everyday the light is different as is the state of the tide. Take your camera. There are 2 pubs nearby who do fairly similar pub meals which are quite adequate. In both we found the portions to be quite large. Walkers can sally forth from the front door, and golfers only have to drive to Dalbeatie for an interesting round at the 9 hole course there. Further afield you have the Threave Castle and the Round Orchardton Tower across the river. A few miles outside Gatehouse of Fleet a bit off the beaten track, you can admire the Big Water of Fleet now defunct railway viaduct and some medieval ruins.

Room Tip: The annex is very quiet, but I would think the other rooms are also quiet as it is a quiet place.

Oh thank you so much Mr & Mrs Thornber for such a detailed review. You would definitely get the job of our advertising manager as you've provided such an accurate account & pictures of the chalet/annexe! You just need to return and stay in our other 2 rooms and do the same for them! You even managed to get a photo of the rainbow across the estuary! It was lovely to meet you both and we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Until next time........regards, Vanessa & Don

No wonder Don and Vanessa score so many 5 stars in the reviews of the Rosemount Guesthouse. I've just spent two
extremely relaxing nights there - I've never felt so much at home away from home. The
suite and furnishings were luxurious, and complete with seaview - the patrons so welcoming, ensuring I enjoyed my stay to the full. And my breakfasts - as good as they get!

Oh thank you so very much for such an endearing review - it was lovely to meet you too! Having guests like yourself, then it does make our job so enjoyable. Glad that the sailing went well! Best wishes, Vanessa & Don
