Starters came out quickly very hot and good amount, mains were served 10 minutes later, Rib eye steak cooked perfectly, onions rings would be good if added to this meal. £2 for sauce on top of £21 for steak a bit much, Thai red curry quite spicy but very tasty! Children's Chicken meal delicious and ice cream good touch
Staff friendly and efficient
All in all good pub and good value

Been several times with friends. The food is always excellent and the staff are always friendly. Large portions. Dogs are welcome and the owner has treats for them. Nice surroundings. Short menu but there are always specials. Tapas Tuesdays at the moment and there is a pasta night too (not tried that), but you can still choose from the normal menu. Love it; keep returning and are never disappointed.

Evening walk turned to dinner.
Very good food and nice pub
The only thing bar service is very slow and kids running riot in the garden. It required someone to make sure that the rules put up for three children are followed because the parents did not.
But if they managed to sort that out would be excellent. We will be back for the good food.

We are outraged at some of the comments below so hence my post but guess that is what Trip advisor is about and allows people to say harsh things that could put people off but its upsetting to the people at a business that work hard and often are seen to be going out of their way to please and run a very popular pub/restaurant.

We have tried some new menu items like Thai beef curry and Fishcakes all delicious and look forward to the Crispy Duck salad next time. Yesterday was Roast Pork and the vegetables are cooked just how they should be (blanched) and my favourite Crispy chicken wings. Tapas on Tuesdays is v good too.

Chris we love your food.....Grace is an excellent host and all the staff work very hard and are polite and friendly.

We don't have a dog or young children anymore but suits both if you have.
We take visitors there who love it and we like the atmosphere both in and out.
New glasses for G&Ts and guest beers add extra touches.

To anybody visiting here and something is not to your liking or taste even if its a suggestion speak with the staff first please rather than putting a damning report of one time you went when its never what we have experienced there in the last 2+years

Anybody reading this give it a try do not be put off by the odd TA comments as food in pubs is how they survive and if we pay more for our food in our homes so the prices will reflect that for good quality and nicely presented when you go out.

This is my local pub it is such a shame that the food has gone down hill massively and is really expensive. Went in on a Friday for early drinks - ordered a charcuterie board board which was £14.99 as a starter. The only part I ate was the bread because the rest tasted plastic! Won't be returning for food again!
