A heritage property located approximately 12 Km from Jorhat on Titabar road. It is an excellent place to visit and stay for brief outing. It has five rooms and with interior to remind one of colonial times. One has to book rooms/ meal in advance with hotel. The staff is very courteous, the catering staff is professional and offers a host of varieties. Liquor is not served at the property. It was a treat to visit this property. Special thanks to Mr Prateek...

Room Tip: It has four big rooms of which few are interconnected for ease of accommodating families.

We had a plan to reach Majuli but terrible traffic delayed us and the last ferry that leave from Nimati ghat (near Jorhat) left for the day! We would either have to spend ₹6000/- for one way transfer to Majuli or stay back and take a ferry for ₹706/- in the morning so we headed to Welcome Heritage Thengal Manor! They just wouldn't let is in; we spoke to the head office, local office, resident manager - all gave us different answers - but said they can't let us stay there without prior booking!

We stayed at this wonderful colonial bungalow enroute to kaziranga national park in end Dec 2016. The place is about an hour from the jorhat airport. It is outside of the main Jorhat city which is about an hour away. the bungalow belongs to an old affluent family of Assam which has now been given out for stays. The bungalow still has the old charm and beautiful and well maintained gardens. There are in all about 4 to 5 rooms and each room has old furniture and the old charm. The portico and the outside sittings are beautiful as we had visited in winter so the early morning mist and weather were really welcome. Each room is differently furbished since it was being used by a family member during their stay. The place has a lot of old furniture and artifacts some of which are really priceless. The passage has excellent old photographs of the family. The rooms in itself are large and spacious. The bathrooms are old but spacious. The staff is very helpful and will go out of their way to prepare dishes for you, Overall we had a very good experience.

This manor was stunning, the rooms were beautiful, we drank drinks on the front balcony in the evening, felt like we'd gone back in time. We ate dinner in the dining room, with butler service! The staff were all really lovely and looked after us so well, wish we'd stayed for more than one night!
