My partner and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary, so upon seeing an opportunity to dine on the beach, I thought that sounded a perfect way to celebrate!
I booked via Dimmi and Alex, the F&B manager was very quick to reply.
The dinner on the beach is separate to their usual restaurant. A flat rate of $180pp applies and you get a cocktail upon arrival, 3 course meal, a bottle of wine to share and a liqueur or coffee to finish (although we finished with an espresso Martini instead). All of this with your own personal waiter/waitress. Catherine was very friendly and showed us to our table and made herself magically appear once we had decided what to order from the a la carte menu or needed a refill of water or wine.
We had personalised menus for us to keep which was a nice touch.
We arrived at 6pm, and quickly made our way to the beach to make the most of the light.
Whilst the sun sets in the opposite direction, it was still very pretty overlooking the beach with people walking their dogs/fishing, and watching the lights of camp-fires in the distance and city lights of Palm Cove light up.
There were a huge amount of bats flying overhead - not too low, but we enjoyed watching them. Others may not.
There was a wedding at the resort, so the music/speeches/cheering carried over to where we were sitting. The music was very lovely, but the sound of the waves in the breaks was just as nice.
Whilst it was well presented, the food wasn't anything spectacular and was a little bit cold by the time it made it out to us on the beach.
The taxi from Cairns city was $60 each way, so it wasn't a cheap date. Very romantic (I had wonderful company), but the food really could have made it something spectacular.
It was a little breezy that day, so bring a light jacket or Cardigan just in case and definitely remember to wear sandals for walking in the sand!

We discovered this place by chance. We rode our bikes from Clifton beach to Kewarra beach but it started to rain heavily when we arrived. We saw there was a resort and headed for shelter. The rain continued for a while so we grabbed some tucker. We ordered a few things from the tasting menu and a couple of cocktails. All was delicious.

Everything about this resaurant is just about perfect. The flavour of the food is always interesting and delicious. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the setting in amongst the paperbarks is wonderful. It was lovely to see a little of the wild life in the garden, the last time we were there.

Living locally, we often go here for lunch and dinner. Lately we have noticed that this restaurant seems to struggle in providing consistent good quality with their food. Today's food was so bad that I have decided to share my experience. The sparkling wine was flat, the burger's meat very dry and the cheese tough. The spongy bun didn't help to improve the experience. The only highlight were the crunchy fries with the aioli but I didn't order a chargrilled burger for $24 because of it's sides.
The squashed chocolate souffle which I had for dessert wasn't a souffle at all and tasted like a soaked brownie. For $15.90 one can expect a decent dessert with a bit more effort to it. Very disappointed.

Our evening meal in the restaurant was beautifully cooked and presented. We had the complimentary breakfasts, the amounts and choices were varied and quiet enough.
