We booked a three bedroom villa (Villa 31) for a week in August and had a lovely time. This resort is perfect for families looking for the space of a luxury private villa, but within a resort environment that provides additional services and amenities such as a restaurant, gym, spa and concierge services.

The villa is very large, has high quality finishing and design, a fully equipped kitchen with Smeg appliances as well as a washing machine, private pool and large outdoor terrace. We booked directly with one of the villa owners, which provided better value for money, but if you book direct with the resort you have the benefit of having someone to fall back on in case anything goes wrong during your stay. In our case the washing machine wasn't working and we had to speak to the villa owner rather than the hotel management and we didn't manage to get it resolved in time. Also, our housekeeping service was not arranged through the resort which caused some issues.

We had breakfast at the Rock Pool restaurant every morning which was perfect. Great and varied breakfast menu, good service and value for money; a great way to start your day and very convenient. We also had lunch and dinner here once which was good as well.

The resort has a gym that features the essentials, but it is small and a little outdated however we used it most days anyway. The massage at the spa was very good albeit pricey if you compare it to spas in Chaweng which is to be expected I guess.

The resort has a private beach but it is rocky and not very sandy so we used the hotel pool and our own private pool most days, especially with the kids.

Chaweng Beach is 5 minutes by car so you are close enough to enjoy the hustle & bustle without having to stay right in town. Taxis are easy to get and the concierge will assist you, but we found that renting a car for the week was more convenient and gave us more flexibility to access other parts of the island as well.

We came to the islands to relax and get away from hustle and bustle of our day jobs and to have a place for my wife to spend the last few weeks of her pregnancy in comfort and privacy.

Villa 12 at Karma Samui fit these requirements to the nines. We came with another couple and the Villa is large enough that you have your own space and can still spend time together in the common areas around the pool and main house. There are three separate sleeping quarters, each with their own bath and amenities with the main house having a living room and kitchen.

The pool has one of the best views and contributes to the feeling of peaceful solitude. Town is only a few minutes away by taxi though if you prefer to eat in, Rockpool has fare to suit even a picky palette.

On one of our town outings we picked up fresh seafood and the trimmings and brought it back and had a lovely BBQ by the pool (ask at the desk about the BBQ).

We would love to return when our child is old enough to travel.

Room Tip: Villa 12 is spacious with a beautiful view. Perfect for two couples or a family.

My family had a blissful 10 night stay at Karma Samui, now called Samui Beach Club ( silly name change in my view!)
We had a 3 bedroom villa and it was spacious , comfortable and meticulous in presentation. Beautifully appointed, the villa provided luxury and privacy. Very comfortable beds, daily service with extra touches like fruit or sweet tastes in the evening and everhot boiled water to make a cup of tea or coffee with the regularly replenished supplies. Nothing was too much trouble and when, for example, the wi fi connection was briefly lost there was quick attention to restoring service.
Breakfast was excellent and just a short walk to the restaurant where the service was great and the view sublime. Staff were helpful, friendly and unobtrusive. We ate some other meals at Rockpool and the quality was great and consistent.
The spa was lovely and competitive with others in the area.
The beach is rocky so most time was spent by our own pool. The resort pool was lovely for doing more serious swimming.

We would return in a heart beat.

We stayed in private villa in Samui Beach Club (ex Karma Samui), villa 33. Overall it was heaven. Beautifully clean, so much space, and so much offered to make a restful holiday. Felt there was no need to leave the villa with sea view to die for. Restaurant close and convenient so idea of self catering was minimized. House maid showed perfect attention to our needs, rare to find someone so proud of her job. We'll stay again.
