Who's gonna ride your wild horses? Who's gonna drown in your blue sea? Who's gonna ride your wild horses?
Who's gonna fall at the foot of thee?
Well I don't really know the answers to these questionts, but I know that I absolutely loved it to see these horses in the free open space. Some of them seemed pretty much just skin and bones, but at least they enjoy their freedom I suppose...

I often visit Luderitz on business, and on most trips I will pop into Garub to see how the wild horses are doing. After the drought of 2016-2018 many have died, but this year due to average rains and feed delivery, they are looking better, and are often seen here at the waterhole. I also spotted Ostrich and Gemsbok.

When we visited we were fortunate to see quite a lot of horses and a Oryx the horse look healthy but thin and seem very tough living in the harsh desert conditions they are fed 3 times a week as there has been no rain for a long time amazing seeing them worth it

You can see some while driving over the B4 road, but to better see them you need to take the marked side rood to the north. The horses are of so poor condition that you wonder if they survive another dry season. Some horses where eating their own dung, probably because of the minerals. Green fodder is supplied by the organisation and some people throw old apples over the fence along the road.
