Thank you to Liesel for arranging our family break in the Cadillac suite at The Lone Star we had such an amazing time. Krystian our personal butler/aid was the sweetest boy ever! Liesel and Krystian cared for us like family, arranging any restaurants or trips out as well as extra pillows! The Lone Star is essentially a very cool, busy restaurant with rooms but the service and laid back luxe takes it to another level. We went on holiday with our two daughters one age 26 and the other 19, they both loved it. The Cadillac suite is like a very chic apartment on the beach next to a great restaurant. The suite has two beautiful bathrooms, one four poster bed a sitting room and sofa bed, walk in wardrobes, coffee machine. Outside the suite has an enormous terrace with sofas, chairs and a dining table which is a wonderful place to relax and drink in the view or dine at your leisure. The beach is directly below you and sunbeds and sun umbrellas were reserved daily. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and although it's not cheap the range was pretty good, only one negative was Freshly squeezed orange was most definitely not fresh or squeezed and was more like processed carton orange. We loved the vibe of the restaurant which was always busy especially on Sundays. The beach is just beautiful and clean and various boats come and anchor there. Turtles come at certain times of the day to feed from the boats and you can snorkel and swim with them.
We had the best time and did not want to leave. Most guests are English for some reason and due to the popularity of the restaurant families and couples flock to join in. My major source of annoyance was that certain Brits who weren't staying at The Lone Star but merely wanting to use the facilities as their own accommodation obviously didn't provide any. Everyday, in spite of hotel signs saying Beach facilities are for the sole use of hotel guests Brits abroad totally ignored it,allowing their badly behaved children to throw sand over the guests while their parents were drinking with their friends and intruding on the space and tables set aside for guests using the shower and using the suites staircase which I feel was a liberty. I did mention this to Krystian but he told me not to let it get to me! I feel the two downstairs suites and the Cadillac suite should have privacy in the area in front of their suites and bar/restaurant should not be using the private staircase leading to the bedrooms. There is in my opinion a security and privacy issue.
Nonetheless we tried not to let this get to us as instructed and we really appreciated the care and attention the staff gave to us all, especially Liesel, Krystian and Dueden in the restaurant . We will be back and hope it's not another 28 years before we get back.

We spent an idyllic week at the Lone Star, having enjoys it so much last year. This time, our good friends accompanied us. Having stayed in Buick previously, which was an amazing room, we took Corvette and Shelby for this visit, as the beachfront rooms had already been booked. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and I actually enjoyed the peace of being slightly back from the front line.

It was so comfortable to be back in familiar surroundings, and the Lone Star did not disappoint. The staffing continues to be 'top drawer'. Liesel has taken over the mantle from Belinda, and is doing a marvellous job, as she was a tough act to follow. Kristian took care of our every need and whim, and knew when we wanted a cocktail before we did! What an asset he is, as are all the other staff, who always seem to be wreathed in gorgeous smiles and certainly give the impression that they love working there.

The food and cocktails were great, as we were expecting, and it really is the best location in the area. We are already planning our return in 2017 to our special Bajan home!

I just returned from a stay at Lone Star and I am already dreaming about a return trip. We stayed in the Shelby Garden Room and it was absolute perfection!! The room was super luxurious as was the bathroom. We heard no noise from the street or restaurant. The patio was the perfect spot to relax in the evening and eat breakfast in the morning. The welcome cookies and rum punch were fantastic. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so wonderful. Kristian thanks for making sure I stayed hydrated on the beach during the day. This small boutique hotel is such a gem I am scared to rave so much about it as I don't want to ever have trouble reserving a room. The West Coast of Barbados overall is spectacular but the Lone Star is really a little oasis and hotel guests get to enjoy the beautiful chairs and umbrellas set right up on Alleynes Bay. Do not change a thing, and we hope to be back next April and stay longer this time!!

Where shall I start, we have just spent two weeks in the Buick suite at the Lone Star. The room was large with a huge bathroom and shower. On the terrace which was also grand looked out over the turquoise sea where turtles were bobbing up and down and the birds were singing. Yes, it was pretty perfect.
The restaurant where we had breakfast every morning was a colonial view of ceiling fans, the sea and many staff all there to serve you. I could not find fault with any member of staff as they all wanted to look after you with a smile.
On the beach and throughout the day Kristian looked after us. He made our holiday and remembered each day that we liked coffee at 14.15. He could not do enough for us and is an asset to the Lone Star. Drew looked after us at the bar making the delicious cocktails each evening. Liesel checked on us daily to make sure our stay was comfortable, relaxing and we had everything we required. What more could you want.
The stay exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return.
Too many staff to mention but a big thank you to you all.

Room Tip: Buick room is the quietest and I think the best. Many guests who were staying there were disappointed that the Buick was occupied.

We stayed in the Cadillac Suite as a family of 4, with 2 teens in the living room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with an amazing restaurant to eat in every day, beautiful views of the sea, and our room was wonderful. We had a few minor issues with the air con which the staff were happy to sort out immediately. The butler was a nice touch too.

Room Tip: Would definitely recommend the Cadillac Suite!
