Had a few days in Phu Quoc and researched many sites to find the perfect hotel within my budget. At first I was a little hesitant as other reviewers said that it was new and working through some problems. I had encountered a few problems getting to the hotel, the cab driver from the boat dock kept taking me to other hotels and insisting the Long Beach was full. I told him I had reservations, but was ignored. Finally arrived, hot, tired and discouraged. Went to check in and was met with a cold drink and wet towel. Check in could not have been more gracious. The room was spectacular with a wonderful patio. The pool and beach were not crowded. There had been a previous review that said not enough chair space and I noticed that a group did occupy most of the chairs on the beach. However, they departed at sunset and did not go back to the hotel and I suspect they were not staying there at all. There are guards on the beach and they discourage the locals from the area. I had dinner that evening and was absolutely charmed by the waiters, who were so attentive. The food was perfect. Also, the next morning I had to leave very early and the staff allowed me to get tea and food before they were officially open. I could not have asked for anything more.

We stayed here for 3 nights and would of loved to have stayed longer.

The resort is really nice and peaceful, with a beautiful and clean beach that we practically had to ourselves most of the time. The pool is also fantastic and a great spot to relax.

The ancient deluxe room had everything we required and we had no complaints at all.

The staff were very friendly and helpful even though their English wasn't very good. The breakfast was ok.

Overall we had great stay here and would come back as long as it doesn't get too crowded there.

We stayed here for 5 nights. It is not finished and there are things missing- some safes in rooms, no dressing gowns etc but the food and service are very good and the pool and beach area clean and calm.
The rooms are done in dark wood so they are a little gloomy and there is no soundproofing so we were disturbed by other guests and had to move rooms. The staff were happy to assist.
The cocktails at the beach bar were pretty bad - tasteless and not well mixed and when we complained we were told they had use the precise measurements and would not add anything to them which we felt was a little short sighted as we would have ordered many more if they had been better !
They gave us a lovely complimentary meal one night in a romantic courtyard setting.
There is nothing much nearby in terms of bars and restaurants. The one next door on the beach is pretty horrible but if you continue along the beach there is a lovely waters edge beach shack with very good service and nice food.

Very warm greeting on arrival at hotel. Beautiful complex. Rooms excellent and a plesure to stay there. Breakfast very good. Only complaint was lunchtime beach restaurant menu very limited and expensive. We would have liked to have eaten there more often if menu, wine, service had been of a higher standard.

The hotel is still in its soft opening phase but this should not put you off - all the 'ancient rooms' part of the resort is complete and there was no construction work going on. The rooms themselves are gorgeus - all wood and very nicely decorated. The benefit of the soft opening phase was that we had the fantastic swimming pool all to ourselves for 4 days. The hotel staff are really friendly and couldn't do enough for us - Jimmy, the bar supervisor deserves a special mention - his English is excellent and he has a great sene of humour. The only downside to the hotel is that the bar closes at 10.00 and you really have to go outside the hotel if you want to stay up beyond this. You can walk to a few bars and restaurants about 1km away but can easily get taxis.
