Days before leaving for Baden-Baden and the Black Forest, we had researched to find out where one could go for an extraordinary meal with a view, and this terrace restaurant in the restored Eberstein castle did not disappoint at all. From its perch high above the Murg river, one felt that the air and the sky merged to give one the sensation of being almost in heaven.
From our terrace-side table we had an unforgettable view of vineyards, the placid river, cottages, flora… which we toasted with the delightful sparkling wine of the region. My spouse had a delicious leg of deer braised in red wine. Depending on the server, the service could be very charming or very business-like. But don’t let the latter colour an experience that one will – or should – never forget.
Note: We think It is best to have one’s own mode of transportation to reach this place, esp. if one's hotel is in the centre of Baden Baden.
