I’ve had a very relaxing stay here. The countryside is very pretty and there are lots of things you can do. You can even hire bikes and go off for walks in the forest. I prefer to have a swim and a sauna. I am on holiday after all.

I have loved my stay here. It’s a beautiful place and the hotel is lovely. I really like the (huge!) breakfast but being able to go for a swim and a sauna is perfect. I’m off for a massage now. I can’t remember the last time I felt this relaxed. Wonderful! I’ll be back.
This hotel provided all we needed for a relaxing week in the Bavarian Forest. It is in a peaceful location with beautiful views. On most days we could see the snow capped mountains in the south from our balcony in the Haus Sonnblick. The staff, a number of the whom speak English, were kind and attentive, and Alois, the owner, provided some lovely advice every morning about trips out. There is also a daily information sheet in German, which includes activities laid on by the hotel, such as a local walk on one day and morning aqua fit on another. There is a superb range of walks to choose from, and guests are provided with a free pass for local buses and trains (although it’s also advisable to have a car). The room was well laid out and the ensuite bathroom bright and clean. The pine furniture was a little jaded in parts. The sauna and pool were conveniently downstairs. We were on ‘half board’ and this is very generous, with an ample selection of traditional German food, well cooked and presented. The evening menu included at least one fish or vegetarian dish, although not on the first evening (best if required to request a meat alternative in advance). The beer is local and good.
