The park is tucked away in the rolling hills of the Bergische Land and the drive there alone is worth it. There is ample parking and, as it was a sunny day, the parking lot was packed. However, the park is so vast that it didn't feel over crowded once we were in.
Getting in was tricky as they only accept cash. We had scrape every cent together as we usually don't carry 40 EURs plus in cash. You should as well bring plenty of 50 cent coins to use the rides inside the park.
The park is well kept, the animals look well looked after. The free-flight-enclosures are very nice and the kids loved discovering the various birds. Try spotting the well camouflaged owls in the Owl Castle.
There is large playground and some really rather quaint rides such as a merry go around on water and a wild water slide. Do not expect amusement park level roller coasters, as I said they are quaint and cost 50ct a shot and that makes the park even more charming to me.
After 4 hours we finished the walk through the park although I am sure you can spend a lot more time there.
All in all it was great, only the Cash Only at the entrance is a bit of a downside especially if through this you loose all the 50ct coins you may have on you.
