Il Salicone is a fabulously restored old stone farmhouse. The property has a vineyard and small winery. In addition to making nice wine, they make vinegar, olive oil and honey. It isn't an agritourism but a great place to relax with friends and family. The building has three floors, a huge kitchen, and grounds to wander. I went there for a workshop and would love to go back with friends or family for holiday. Loved going on walks in the early morning. About 10 or so minutes from Pistoia, a nice town to explore with a daily fruit/vegetable market. Each Wednesday. From Pistoia, you can catch the regional train to Lucca, a walled city worthy of a visit (and actually a place to book a night or two). I can't say enough good things about Il Salicone. If you are looking for a city and lots of things to do, this wouldn't be for you. If looking for relaxation and exploration, don't miss out!
