We stayed at the Alimounda for 4 days and it was an amazing stay!!
Hotel staff is smiley and attentive, ready to help with any question or request.
I would like to specially thank Anastasia who was helpful with giving us great tips and insights for traveling the island, choosing dining places and more, that made our trip :)
Also Yanis, for the amazing breakfast omlets and for sharing with me your home made special chilli (even gave me some to take home)
The front desk who heard we are having our wedding anniversary and sent us champagne and a huge plate of fruits with a blessing card to the room, thank you.

The pool is one of the most beautiful pools I've seen (infinity pool with best view of the bay and Port) and the sun beds are the most comfortable ones I ever experienced

The Port is just a few minutes walk with nice walk area, fresh air and lots of great tavernas to eat at

Thank you again for a perfect vacation, we will definitely be back

Having read through a lot of the prose and cons of this hotel we chose it for it seemed to have the best of what we wanted. Have now been here for the last four days with six adults and two children, it would be difficult to find a better hotel. This place has nearly everything we wanted, located in a cove not far from town though getting to town is a bit of adventure (badly paved footpaths). The most important thing for us was to have a relaxing time with no stress this place ticks all the boxes, clean rooms, breakfast one of the best, staff service well a few so called 5 stars can go on a course here,we planned a birthday party for the Sunday night for 14 was there a problem for a cake and a place to have a little bit of bubbley no problems it took 10 minutes to get the situation sorted. From my group and my experience I cannot rate this hotel more highly. 5 stars from us.

It is a beulaytiful hotel with exquisite view of the sea, strategically located near the center of the capital of Karpathos (Pigadia). The rooms are clean and spacious and the pool enormous. The breakfast meets every demand and it is delicious. However, a great number of the staff are foreigners and do not know much about the Greek hospitality. The atmosphere is cold and indifferent. If you are a Greek, you have to know English to communicate. In addition, the hotel does not care about your opinion as they will not ask you to fill out a survey as they do in the case of other tourists. If you are a foreigner, you will not experience the real Greek hospitality.

It's really difficult for me to describe just how perfect this hotel is, but I will give it a try. Everything about our stay was superb. We had the waterfront sea view room which we strongly recommend, even though it is slightly more expensive, but well worth it! The room is very spacious and very clean. The beds are very comfortable as well. The pools is perfect. Great temperature, well serviced and bed space is always available no matter how packed the hotel is. The staff are extremely friendly all over the hotel. They made our trip so much more enjoyable. They were always helpful and always willing to help, even when it came to certain recommendations on the island (beaches, restaurants...etc). We ended up making a few new friends at the hotel even! The food is delicious regardless of where you eat. The breakfast is perfect with a massive selection of different options. We never ate dinner at the hotel, or had the lunch buffet, but I can tell you everything on the menu was super delicious. The location is very convenient. There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The town is around a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The walk to the town is perfect because you get to explore all the little shops on the way to the port. We strongly recommend this hotel to any visitor to the island. Trust me it will make the trip.

My wife and I stayed here with half board for one week. We had ordered a room with sea view and were first taken aback being appointed a room on second floor between two large wings facing the sea and were only after complaint informed that rooms in the wings belonged to an even higher price category, which we had never been told when placing our reservation.
So our stay started with a slight disappointment, but after that we learnt it was a blessing in disguise as the island is a very windy place and the yard in front of our balcony, with a sea view and flanked by the two wings provided an excellent shelter from the wind and we had the advantage to listen to evening music entertainment that had not been possible staying in the outer wings.

Room comfort

Left nothing to be desired, spacy, clean and modern and with a nice balcony. Sleeping comfort was good. Bathroom was beatifully designed and clean, with a great magnifying mirror that provided best support for makeup and shaving.

Food & service

All meals were really out of this world in terms of abundance, variety and quality. Still, despite the lavishness there were a few things that we found to be under expectations, considering this being a five-star establishment.

1. Lack of fresh juices for breakfast - though there were a large variety of juices, it was obvious they all were made of essence, i.e. not fresh or even preserved real fruit.

2. Coffee - in our view a good meal should always have at least the option to be rounded off with a nice cup of coffee. Here it was not even possible to order as a supplement and it was only available for breakfast. Why?

3. Ice - it should be the most obvious thing requested in a hot climate like here, but to our (and many others') disbelief, it was only available via room service and at a cost of 5 euros! Incredible!

4. Service as a whole was cordial and personal, but slightly inconsistent. For example, getting a refill of coffee during breakfast proved only to materialize on request and the personnel was not always quite attentive.

Still, considering these shortcomings, this hotel is a heaven for any food lover valuing variety and lavishness, but there might be those who would like the option of an à la carte restaurant. We did not miss it and could only marvel at the large amounts of delicacies served.

Pool and surroundings

The large infinity pool is impressive and beautiful. Sunbeds are perhaps the best ones we've had anywhere. For those preferring the sea, there is direct access to the beach below the pool, where you have the same comfortable sun beds and parasols.
The hotel is only a ten-minute walk from the very centre of the town and there are several nice bars or restaurants for those seeking variation from the daily routine.
