This was our first visit to Lesbos and what a beautiful island. We rented a car for 4 days of our 2 week stay and toured extensively and saw no signs of trouble. Do not believe what you read in the press.Thekla makes a point of knowing all her guests and customer service is outstanding-nothing is too much trouble. The location of the hotel is great( about 10-15minute stroll into the main square), the pool a great size, surrounded by gardens. You don't need to be up at 6a.m. to reservice a sunbed-plenty for everyone. Breakfast is buffet style but kept replenished with a hot option too.
We ate a couple of nights at the hotel and the food is good-and good value,It is the same menu daytime for a pool snack, or evening.
Everything about this hotel is relaxing and Thekla ensures all her guests are well looked after.

What a great week spent at the Pela Hotel, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by staff and guests who had been visiting for many years.
Thekla and her staff worked very hard making sure you had everything you wanted.
The pool and patio areas are great for sunbathing and having an evening drink with the fellow guests.
Breakfast was buffet style but plenty of choice, we ate there for other meals which were all delicious and well priced.
The position of the hotel is just a short pleasant stroll from the village where there’s a variety of excellent restaurants also offering good priced meals.
We will definitely join the army of guests that keep returning.

I have been visiting Skala Kallonis for over twenty years including "out of season" as the summer months can be extremely hot. Flying with Thomas Cook from Manchester directly to Mytilini was excellent value for money. The Pela Hotel has seen some significant investment and the changes whilst not dramatic are most welcome. The weather at this time of year can be changeable however it was sunny and over 31c most days but the service, smiles and laughs, even though there are fewer guests staying, are the same. It's like coming home, more than home in fact & somewhere really special. Put it on your places to visit list.

Another great holiday at the Pela Hotel, after 21 years of coming to to Skala Kallonis and most of the time at the Pela it feels like coming from home from home, Thekla and her father and all of the staff can't do enough for you, the rooms are clean the food is good and there is a good bar and pool bar all at good prices
After all the bad media coverage of the refugees in Lesvos ( they are no problem to the tourist) things seem to be picking up for the Island and the Lesbos people make you very welcome. Roll on next year for another good holiday.
