I stayed here for a couple of nights in the very early season in April, so it was lovely and quiet.
The buildings are rather old, but the building layout across the gardens is nice and helps to make things quiet and peaceful. My bedroom was older style, but quite bright and spacious, and the shower was acceptable.
The restaurant is neither stylish nor attractive, but there is a nice outside terrace and although the food is certainly very basic, it was acceptable for the price and there were some neat Greek touches.
The employees of the hotel I all found to be helpful and nice.
The beachside location is great and the pool isn't bad either. The 'resort' it's located in is ok but really just a strip along a main road and a bit characterless. It's 20-25 mins by regular bus to Rethymnon proper, which is lovely.
Overall, I was happy with the value for money - I really paid bargain basement rate for this one - but it's not the type of place that I would ever linger for more than 4 or 5 days.More
