This is a high standard restaurant with very modern and comfortable rooms. Very comfortable beds with high standard of linen and facilities. Bathroom facilities excellent - very hot water, plentiful accessories and double washbasins. TV a complete mystery and should have instructions in room. Breakfast very good although rather slow. Welsh breakfast included laverbread and cockles. Cuisine at dinner absolutely first class.
Only criticism was that rooms are very warm -ours in very sunny position.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Room very comfortable, however a few things to note.Firstly the TV is impossible to work and no instructions in room - in fact no welcome pack at all in room. Secondly no phone in room which meant if we needed anything I had to ring from my mobile on external line to reception. Coffee/tea facilities but no milk - rang on mobile - milk brought- but was off by next morning as no fridge in room.Bathroom looking tired already with signs of mildew.
However, staff were lovely and very helpful , food was great and all in all we had a lovely night!

Room Tip: Ask for room at the back as quite a busy road at the front of the hotel

With just five rooms this "restaurant with rooms" is just that, with the emphasis on some excellent dining with local ingredients and a modern presentation. The wine list has some interesting choices. The rooms are in "boutique" style with very comfortable beds and modern fittings. The bathrooms need a bit of a refresh and I understand this is planned for later in the year.
Delightful and accomodating staff add to the sense of calm and being just a short walk form one of Gower's more beautiful beaches makes this a great spot for a night or weekend away form it all.

Room Tip: Rooms 2-4 are at the back and so would be a quieter but the road is hardly a racetrack! Room 5 is I think a little more spacious

Nice clean place. Very friendly staff- no fuss at all when we showed up much too early for breakfast. Room was comfy but quite small. We had dinner in the restaurant and whilst pricey, it was certainly worth it.
Location is good as within walking distance of an amazing beach but yes, it is also next to a very busy road.
My only issue with our stay was that since we were in the room right above the restaurant, when the restaurant was closing or early in the morning, the music coming through the speakers (integrated in the ceiling ie right under our room) could be clearly heard in our room - not great if you are a light sleeper (luckily we brought my earplugs)

This was my first ever trip to Wales and we stayed for one night at Maes-yr-Haf. Superb customer service by all staff - nothing was too much trouble. Lovely room and a really great bathroom. Parking easy. Free WiFi to the room - which more than made up for the lack of mobile phone signal. I didn't find it noisy at all despite being at the front on the hotel facing the road (but then I do live on a VERY noisy road so perhaps my threshold is higher) Had an evening meal and breakfast - which again showed excellent front of house service combined with good food. Will definitely be back again in the future. Highly recommended
