This is the place you need to come to if you have been tired of the fast life and stress in your country and have partied a lot in Kuta and have had enough of hustle and bustle of the cute town of Kuta. You are transported to a serene, absolutely wonderful little place run by Santika a professional chef who had worked in the Caribbean for many years and has returned to start this cozy little place tucked away amongst lush green rice fields. It has only 5 rooms and is extremely well maintained. It is only a couple of years old and Santika makes sure it is well maintained and comfortable. It has a little lap pool which you can wade in after going around. He and his wife feed you with personal suggestions and care. They also run a warung which is open to public but we were never disturbed by any noise or too many people. They don't advertise very aggressively so it is a place that runs on recommendations after personal experience. I would rate it as one of the best places that I have stayed in and in one of the most peaceful locations. Hardly a sound, freshly made fruit juices, bread, eggs and Balinese coffee or tea for breakfast and meals that are fit for a king and queen! He is passionate about food and talks about food like he would about his children! His genius as a cook showed through in every meal that we had. You can rent a scooter or just walk around the village nearby. The surroundings, especially the village, is a photographer's paradise with such great photo opportunities in the homes, people and fields. You can see real human rice field workers instead of the noisy modern machines! You can chat with the groups of women who work there, all pretty, friendly with great smiles that would be a joy to capture in your cameras. The rooms are very modern, the beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are modern with a great rain showerhead, nice smelling towels and there is no area in that little property that is unsightly! The wifi is excellent, the restaurant is very comfortable with great views of the green fields and it was blissfully quiet as we were the only ones apart from a German couple. For foodies, not only do they offer outstanding local cuisine but also run Balinese cuisine cooking classes which you can attend. After reviewing about 70 places on TripAdvisor let me tell you one thing. If there was one reccommendation that I had to make this would be it! Pesantian hotel and warung (restaurant). For those who want to 'Eat, Love and Pray', people, look no further! This is it! Try this place! You will always thank me for writing this review. And I can guarantee you, Santigo will become your friend for life. He actually came with us to Ubud, the nearest town, stayed with us till we found a taxi to take us to our next location, Sanur, and stopped the traffic for us to get into the new car! He took us to the local market early in the morning at 630 am and showed us some of the vegetables and other eatables, was so interested in exposing us to their ways of life....where else will you find such people who also run such wonderful establishments? If you do know of such people who run places like I mentioned above please share them. We would be the first ones to try!
