Great location and view from the room. As we had a car it was easy to get wherever we wanted to go, we also know the area well having been there 7 times previously.

Breakfast was ok, room was good, was happy with our stay.

Dear Julia M,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us, we are very happy that you had a comfortable stay with us.

Please allow me to inform the good news that during 1 April – 30 September 2020, we are closing and merging these 2 hotels which are “The Galleri by Katathani” and “Nook Dee Boutique Resort”. After merging complete, the new hotel will rebranded to “The Sea Galleri by Katathani” and position itself as a 5 star resort, we are now on process of adding and upgrading new facilities, as well as the services which make your stay comfortable and memorable.

After reopened on 1 October 2020, guests can either choose to relax at "Vintage wing's pool (previously Nook Dee)" or "Vogue Rooftop's Pool (previously The Galleri)".

Thank you for your comments, and wish you stay safe.

This hotel on first appearance is very smooth and swish. It would be the perfect place to take the love of your life to make a big impression. The bedrooms are fabulous and made for romance. The roof top pool and bar are lovely with plenty of loungers. The breakfast is superb and service very good indeed.
Retired couples are in the minority here, and if you are unlucky enough to find your room on the 7th or 8th level 4 flights of stairs have to be negotiated to reach the lift for getting to other floors.
The view from our room was stunning and the emperor sized bed superb.
A shuttle bus is available for pre booking to the Beach Club which is really, really lovely. Scooter hire is available on site.

Room tip: As for a room with a view of the bay.

Very nice modern hotel with big rooms,. We had a big balcony with some sea view.
Amazing view from the rooftop pool where we enjoyed great breakfast every morning. Lots of fresh fruits, pastries and cooked food. A bonus with the amazing thin pancakes machine.
Food at the restaurant was always freshly made and very tasty.
The staff is awesome, friendly and professional and eager to help.
We rented scooter as the 10 minutes walk were tough under the heat.
Complimentary shuttle to beach is very convenient as well as beach club access.

A very nice and peacefull stay at this Hotel. The rooms were clean and the room service was also spot on. A great restaurant looking over the pool and killer view of the beach/sunset.
Taxi and scooter services on the front door but also in close walking range to town (prepare to walk up hill on way back)
Would stay here again.

Room tip: I enjoyed the spa on the balcony for not a huge amount more.

Came here for 4 nights with the wife in March during a tour of SE Asia.

Positives:

Large clean and modern studio room, with a massive comfortable bed and excellent black out curtains. Room was really quiet - barely heard another guest despite being just above the car park.

Enjoyed the balcony/bath combo - and the daybed outside too.

Bathroom - clean/modern with various accessories inc toothbrush.

Good aircon - needed when it’s like 34c outside!

Fridge in room with free daily water restock. Handy for storing your own beers/soft drinks.

Rest of the hotel was nice too - clean and well maintained - used both the pool and sun loungers which always seemed to be available throughout the day.

Only had breakfast once before leaving early one day - standard/average hotel fare - I would not have paid extra for it though however - given how cheap/good local food is.

Staff seemed friendly and professional.

Even enjoyed that they had a little shop on site for buying extra snacks/drinks - was nice that the prices weren’t really that different when compared to a local 7/11 (when some hotels would really abuse this and try to gouge you for as much as possible)

Cons:

Main issue was the fact the hotel is at the top of a massive hill, with poor path access requiring walking in the road. Walking down was fine - but coming back up was absolutely knackering (and I’m a fit 34yr old - think an older person or someone with mobility issues would have really struggled).

The hotel does put a free shuttle on which is an option - which does help - but it needs prebooked, is limited to 10, stops in the early evening so is useless for after a night out, and you can’t get it back unless you got on it on the outward trip. Taxis/Tuktuks are available (which we got home most nights) but the drivers know you want to avoid the hill and adjust the price accordingly.

Other more minor points:

Check in process weird - DIY using QR code - why not just have it like every other hotel?

Room is minimalist - meaning zero storage options at all other than a few clothes hangers - meaning you have to live out of a suitcase. Can’t imagine that would be fun if you were there for 10 days or two weeks!

Daybed/couch thingy in room bit of waste of space. Perhaps some drawers or storage would be more helpful.

TV - only Thai channels and no smart tv access to YouTube/Netflix etc- meaning it was completely useless for English speaking guests.

Sink broke on one of days - but was rectified fairly promptly by staff.

Had few drinks at bar upstairs while by pool - prices are fairly ridiculously priced. Again - I’m aware that they have a captive audience and you’ll always pay more for poolside drinks in a nice hotel - but given local prices for booze it felt like a bit of advantage taking.

Overall - enjoyed my stay here and the room was great. Would definitely recommend. Just be aware of the hill!
