Owner description: Since Bluewater opened its doors on March 16, 1999, it has set the benchmark for the ultimate shopping and leisure experience and the rest as they say is retail history. Rising out of a former chalk quarry among 50 metre-high cliffs, Bluewater's striking architecture is simply unique. Located in Kent, traditionally known as the Garden of England, our overall site of 240 acres is surrounded by a 50 acre landscape of lakes, parkland and trees making it the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy. We have 300 stores, over 50 bars, restaurants and cafes along with 13,000 free car parking spaces attracting 28.1 Million visitors per annum. As well as offering a wide range of services, our team will endeavour to ensure that your Bluewater experience is fun, memorable and exciting. Bluewater's triangular design with a flagship store at each point - Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and House of Fraser - over two levels make shopping a breeze. In between the flagship stores are three distinct shopping malls boasting stylish stores along with restaurants, cafes and bars catering to every taste.

Bluewater contains just about everything you would get in your local High Street but a lot more of it and more choice, being mostly indoors you don’t have to worry about the weather. It’s not just shopping, there are lots of places to eat and drink, a picnic area, children’s play area. The nature trail is a good place to chill out with the young waterfowl this time of year. It can be very busy and noisy at times. It opens at 10 am, if I am not just browsing and I know what I want that is the best time to visit. It has the best Marks and Spencer’s with lots of stock that I know of. There a lot of free parking and free WiFi.

I like Bluewater mainly because it’s easy to park and lots of disabled toilets.
Shops are kind of ok, no higher ends.
Restaurants are good selections.
Best time is Monday to Friday when no crowds.

Having never been to Bluewater before, I didn't know quite what to expect in terms of its size: This place is vast and needs at least two hours to enjoy properly.

There is a good choice of shops in terms of balance: Designer mixed in with the affordable.

Parking is not a problem either as there's so much of it!

On the downside, it feels that this is a place designed for consumer debt. Unless you are extremely affluent, you will need a credit card to properly enjoy this place!

We probably only bought from two shops, ate at one restaurant and 'window shopped' everywhere else!

Recommended and would probably return.

Great shopping and free parking/ The centre is huge and there is a good selection of shops and restaurants. Could do with some shady spots in the car park if you are leaving a dog in the car so we didn't spend as much time as we would have liked.
