This is a very nice state park. Admission fee is between $5-10. The park has portable bathroom, picnic area, small play ground, and walk way to see bridge on top of the dam. There is a path near the playground to walk upwards to the bridge, it's about 10 minutes walk. I spent 1.5-2 hours in this park during lunch, and I see many families with young kids here.
Beautiful park which the New Croton Dam is part of. This is a must do/see. The Dam and falls are spectacular. Picnic in the park and walk the trails. One trail takes you to the top of the Aqueduct, but the walk might be too strenuous for those with physical problems as it goes uphill. The trail walk is well worth it. The view looking down from the Aqueduct is absolutely gorgeous. A $5 parking fee is charged in season, but is free after Labor Day and an Autumn day is perfect to visit. It was a warm and beautiful Fall day when we visited so it was very crowded so much so that there was a someone to park cars so arriving earlier might be a better option than after lunch.
Who knew that this beautiful waterfall was so close to where I live. Absolutely breathtaking. I will be going back with my lounge chair and a picnic lunch and will be taking the hiking trail to the top of the falls.
Needed to calm down and get away for a bit. Randomly ended up here and it was just what I needed. Ready to face the day now.
Great place if driving pass croton just for a photo or midway picnic stop
Never really crowded
Definitely worth a photo
this place is like a hidden treasure with a beautiful waterfall and hike up the dam where you see the reservoir. even a playground for kids.
