First, we'd like to clarify that the property we stayed in was the vacation Club resort (aka: apartment resort). The villas are reserved only for Anantara members.

The vacation club was very impressive for us. We booked as a one week getaway through Interval International. Had access to all the amenities (less the villas). All the staff went above and beyond to make our first start at this resort a memorable one. We didn't do any excursions during our stay here, as we had already booked quite a few during ie previous stay at another neighbouring resort. We did inquire about a trip to the Tiger Cave Temple in a neighboring town named Krabi. However, there was no excursion for that - and we were informed that most people from Krabi take excursions to Phuket... oh well.

Complimentary shuttle service on a regular schedule would be nice - especially during hot days or inclement weather. We were informed that there was taxi service for 500 Baht/hour that could assist us with excursions nearby. However, we had to book a minimum of four hours.

When we come back next time, maybe we'll do a few days in Krabi in order to save more time and money.

Dear Meowrtee

Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.

Yes, Krabi is approximately 2.5-3.0 hours drive from Phuket. You can take a boat, however by the time you transit, a similar duration. I suggest next time you spend a few days in Phuket with us and then move to Anantara Si Kao for a few more. On the drive, stop at the Tiger Cave Temples which are actually just north of Krabi Town and then move south to Anantara Si Kao which is a great base to explore that part of the world including the Emerald Caves and surrounds.

Kind Regards

Great service, great property and good food especially the thai milk tea!
Thai service is always impeccable. Receptionists were super helpful recommending us restaurants near by and helping us arrange taxi. The hotel is really far away from everything, nearly 45 mins cab ride to the city where you can reach restaurants and beach clubs. But the property itself is really well maintained and I feel totally fine to just hang around the resort. There are also lots of activities which are free for guests to sign up like yoga lessons, cooking class, etc.

The pool is amazing and theres a bar so its super relaxing to just swim over to the bar and grab a drink & bill the room. Drinks aren't too expensive either( between 250-400 baht) We got upgraded to the two bedroom apartment and it was amazing! My apartment was hugeee!!! Could easily fit at least 6 people in it.

Only complain is there are mosquitoes inside the apartment even when air con is on!! we got biten for two nights and had to escape to the spare room. Everyting else was amazing. We got the room at a really cheap rate , unbelievably cheap rate as the hotel was trying to sell their vacation package to us. We had to attend a 1.5 hour one-on-one sales pitch in order to get a cheap rate. They introduced us to this package where you get points every year after paying a lump sum of money and can visit any anantara and affiliated hotels for the next 27 years. We didnt purchase the package at the end cause we didnt think we would want to be restrained to this hotel chain when we consider our holidays in the future. However we met some family by the pool and they love this package - i think it makes more sense when you have a family and have more planned holidays.

Nevertheless despite the location being REALLY FAR from everything ( except the airport only 25 mins away) , i had an enjoyable stay and the staffs were all very very nice. Highly recommended , and very family friendly with kids also! You can also order a buggy to bring you around the resort if you're too lazy to walk .

Room Tip: Request one closer the the pool

We stayed here through a connection with Hilton Grand Vacation Club and got a 2 bedroom apartment. When we walked in, we were a bit disappointed. The room was nice enough but looked a little run down. It wasn't quite what we were expecting having come all the way from the U.S. so we asked if a villa was available and it was so we moved and that was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend the villa instead of the apartment if you can! We could have spent every minute enjoying our pool!

This hotel is nice however a few small details could have made the stay better. We stayed t the Marriott, next door on our last visit and would book there again next time. Small items like a better equipped kitchen, complimentary water daily, and access to all pools make you feel appreciated as a guest.

Booked Anantara through a promotion of a credit card company in the Philippines and this includes 4days-3nights stay in a 1BR pool villa, daily breakfast and round trip transfer to and from the airport. Got it at a very affordable price but we were required to attend a 60-90minutes presentation during the stay. Booking process run smoothly and even got a pre arrival email from them on what to see and expect in the resort.
We arrived at Phuket International Airport 730am. We were gladly welcomed by Anantara personnel and waited for few minutes before we were transferred to the resort (it's around 15mins ride from the airport) . When we arrived the resort, we were informed that the villa will only be available by 9am thus they first transferred us in a receiving room at the second floor of the apartment suites where we rested for few minutes. Then as they promised, the room became ready at 9am. And since prior arrival, I informed that it's my wife's birthday, we were surprised to see a birthday greeting in our bed and even got a birthday cake which is really a big plus to Anantara.
Everything in the villa is excellent (perfect bed mattress, complete kitchenwares, bath tub, washing and drying machines and most of all the private pool). Daily breakfast at Chaam Restaurant is the best as it has varieties same with other 5-star hotels. You'll never get bored in the resort as there are scheduled activities for kids and adults the whole day (our daughter tried cookie making, finger painting and Thai costume dress up). Movie night by the pool with free popcorn should also not be missed. Within Anantara's vicinity, you'll find Turtle Village (where there are restos and a grocery store), Anantara Phuket Villas and Marriot Vacation Club. Mai Khao beach is also around 10minutes walk. So overall, we had a blissful experience at Anantara. We definitely recommend this resort if you want to be temporarily released from the busy and stressful life in the city. Given the chance, I would really love to stay longer there. Thank you so much Anantara!!! :)

Tips/suggestions/recommendations:
1) Best to book pool villa than the apartment suites.
2) Since Anantara has a full kitchen amenity, we bought groceries and cooked for lunch and dinner during our stay.
3) Grocery shop at Turtle Village is too expensive thus, prior our arrival in Anantara, I already ordered groceries from Tesco Lotus online and had it delivered on our first day in Anantara. (just to give you an idea on the pricing of the grocery shop in Turtle Village, 1.5L of coke costs 55THB while in Tesco, it only costs 23THB which is more than double the price.)
4) You can have your currency exchanged in Turtle Village/Mai Khao Plaza which gives a good rate. NEVER exchange your currency in the Airport because the rate there is too low.
