Description: The Churchill Arms, Paxford is a boutique pub nestled away in north of The Cotswolds. With its historical local character at our core we pride ourselves on thought about classics. With two characterful but modern, luxurious, en-suite bedrooms we're located just outside Chipping Camden. Less than a 2 hour journey by train or car from London we're in the perfect spot to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our cosy bar, stocked with beers and local ales and ridiculously tasty bar snacks is just a good a place to while away an afternoon.

A perfect sunny day in a beautiful English village complete with village church and of course a pub. However this is much more than any average pub, the food, staff and overall experience clearly set it apart. Perfectly prepared and presented, every dish was superb. The smoked haddock souffle and chive colours was light but full of beautiful flavours. To follow, cod with lettuce and peas was superb. Tucked away but worth seeking out. Well done to Nick and the team

Good traditional pub atmosphere.
Inexperienced waitress but very kind and attentive.

Some dishes are superb like the smoked haddock soufflé, délicate and as light as a Feather, and the calves liver cooked and presented with a good twist.
No praise for the carrot and Ginger soup more Pepper than Ginger, very bland presentation, or for the crab, served tepid, which made it quite unpleasant.
For the chocolate pudding, be aware that type of crokery, cooking does not stop while being brought to the table, which overcooked it.
We had higher expectations from this well know chef, with each dish on the menu prepared with the same level of expertise.
Maybe this was on off day, we will try again.

We had the opportunity to have lunch at the Churchill while touring the Cotswolds with CJP Cotswolds Tours. The food was just excellent! High quality, flavorful and well presented. A great place to stop and have a meal.

We last visited this venue probably eight years ago. It was poor. When I heard ownership had changed I tried twice to book via voicemail but had no reply so I nearly gave up - glad I didn't. It is transformed, the infrastructure is greatly improved, staff are welcoming and fully up to speed on the options. The menu is different to local competitors, which is excellent, and what we sampled very tasty. Prices are marginally up for the area but quality justifies this. Choice of wines pretty good.
I spoke to the manager about booking problems and he accepted voicemail problems and recommended the e mail route for booking, which I had used this time.
Parking is country roadside only so I commend early reservations if you want to be close to the venue.
Well worth a visit for a meal but it's not really a drinking only venue

Nick came and talked to us and thanked us for making the journey which we will definitely be making again very soon. High recommend The Churchill.
