We picked this Eco friendly and committed to sustainability hotel as the last leg of our Costa Rican tour due to it's uniqueness and it's proximity to San Jose airport. The hotel is part of coffee plantation and is magical and tranquil. The locations and views are stunning.

The coffee is Amazingand we bought some to bring the memories back home. We highly recommend the plantation tour and the coffee tasting. It will help you appreciate good coffee in the future.

The staff is very polite and efficient. The restaurant is of high standards and the again the staff is very attentive, they reserved the same table for the duration of our stay. The food is locally resourced some of it produced in the plantation.

The main building has several nature murials which create the unique feeling of the space. The rooms are big and stay loyal to the spirit of the hotel, some of them have balconies or terraces with great views. There is no tv in the room which we made us appreciate the space more.
The swimming pool and outdoor jacusi are perfectly located at the top of the property.

A wonderful experience.

Dear Dimitri P; Thanks for sharing- especially about our efforts to be as sustainable as possible. We have worked for 30 years in trying to reduce our impact as a business through organic agriculture, healthy products, alternative energy and much more, We also participate profoundly in our community to improve our practices and to help those less fortunate. We also, hire only from our surrounding areas so we can recycle our earnings back into our community.

Our coffee is, as you know, shade grown under a native tree forest and is organic. But we also grow and farm many other foods there, including bananas, plantains, Guavas, Citrus, Water apples and much more. This symbiosis allows for a super healthy growing environment and a super high-quality coffee.

As you poined out, art and architecture, great service and a feeling of place are what we strive for and I am so glad you experienced all of that with us. Please come back soon!

The room was quaint and quirky but may not be to everyone's taste with stone paved flooring. Very Eco friendly with short uninteresting walking trails in the grounds, which were a bit of a disappointment. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. We ate in the main restaurant in the evening. The food was average. The pool area ar a was very attractive with nice views. We only stayed on night and would say that it's a convenient location closed to the airport.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor would suspect better views from higher rooms

Dear 978kevin; Thank you for sharing your review and for your comments.
The floors are indeed stone, it is a unique and beautiful stone called "Mollejón" which is a beautiful yellow mottled with red and white "stains" and found here in Costa Rica. Most of the rooms have exotic hardwood floors which are also quite Costa Rican and beautiful.
We wish you had found the time also to walk in the coffee fields which have over 2 km of paths through the forested coffee plantation.
Again thanks for taking the time to let us know about your stay.

Such a welcome oasis after a long flight. A lovely welcome from super sweet staff and nice dinner in the restaurant. Pedro deserves special mention for his wonderful calm demeanour - easing us right into vacation mode ! The best part was waking up really early and seeking out the gorgeous pool and hot tub for a private 6am swim. Unforgettable!

Dear Flyinfliss; what a great way to describe our small hotel- “Oasis” . As you know, we are a family owned and operated business spanning three generations and feel like our guests are family coming to visit us.
We built the hotel and nurtured the organic coffee fields with dreams, love and optimism and we try to make your stay here an experience of health, art and comfort.
Jumping into the spring fed chemical free pool in the early morning is so refreshing and the 22meter wide pool allows you to swim laps if you want as well. I hope you sat under the 12 foot high waterfall for an after swim massage!

Thanks again for writing in about your stay.

Such a beautiful setting with great food and very helpful staff! Loved the coffee tour! Mango trees above the infinity pool. Organic soaps in the bathroom, chocolates on our pillows. A to go breakfast when they brought us in to catch an early morning flight. Magical view of the city from the pool and the restaurant at night!

Dear Halljc; Thank you so much for spending time writing this review- it is always such a nice surprise to read these kinds of comments from our guests. All the things you mention are the little details we try to add to the experience: we like to think that Finca Rosa Blanca is the "sum of the details".
I hope you will come back for a longer stay and go with us on one of the myriad tours we offer for day trips; volcano treks, cultural tours including a trip to the central market and so much more.
Again, thanks for writing about us!

Loved the rooms. Stayed in the La Laguna (I think that was the name) House. The rooms were la Guaria and el Roble. It is an awesome building. Includes a kitchenette with a French press and coffee from the on-site plantation. A beautiful building.

I went in May 2018. No A/C required. It’s plenty cool at night. Around mid 60s Fahrenheit in our rooms at night.

We went on the coffee tour, which ended with a “cupping” session. They don’t just have you taste coffee. You actually learn how professionals “cup” coffee or discern quality.

Other coffee tours in CR are not necessarily on working coffee plantations. This tour is on a complete and working coffee plantation. You’ll learn a great deal about coffee. Tour guides are highly educated and can teach you so much.

Dear Austin; Muchas gracias! It was such a pleasure to read your review and thank you for sharing your comments here on TripAdvisor. The villas, where you stayed are over 90 m2 (1000 SQ.') and as you know, are surrounded by lush verdant trees and flowers and with their two elevated decks are a great place to just hang - for couples or for the whole family.
Thank you also for pointing out that air conditioning is totally unnecessary here, as the nights are quite cool and the days are very warm in the sun, but in the shade, the temperature is perfect all year round. Also, the ceiling fans add to the feeling of comfort and we believe that we have the best climate in the world (in fact, our neighboring community, Atenas, was deemed to have the best climate in the world by National Geographic some years ago!)
We are indeed a working coffee plantation, producing about 7,000 kilos of high-quality organic coffee per year. One of the many differences of our farm from others is that it is family owned and operated, it is shade grown in a forest of native trees, the coffee is organic and we also produce many other fruits and vegetables in our coffee plantation as well, such as plantains, bananas, Guavas, Caimitos (delicious!), limes, mangos and much more.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your observations. See you again soon I hope!
