First of all, you guys must know there is so many obstacles when me and my friend planned to visit Togean Island last month. Such as, suddenly Ferry from Gorontalo to Wakai did not operated 1 week before our trip, flight schedule changes by the airlines, etc. Wow, it's sucks man! (that's my thought when i received this news) and our tour guide (Mr. Owan) told my friend, and all of us got confused. First, how we to get there (Wakai)? But our tour guide came with the solution, he told us the backup plan. (My first impression, okay this guy is a professional guide when he came with a solution). For me is important, since i ever met the other tour guide who will not care for it (Maybe they think, we can solve it by ourself).
Thanks to you Pak Owan, we still got a chances to visit Togean Island:)
And continues to our trip for 6 days with Togean Journey, it's really a nice vacation this time. We got a new experiences such as trekking to Jellyfish lake with wet swallow (can you guys imagine?? since we usually trekking with a proper equipment, LOL), and also met a new friends such as Pak Buche (is the spelling right? =)) (our boat captain), Marion and Epo (owner's of Lia Resort), Fadli (guy from neighbourhood island), Fikran, Alan (Owner's of Bolilanga Resort), Mba Fonny (she is helping us to squid fishing at night), Pak David (he also helping us, but we got nothing you know -.-), the three musketeers (Sri, Fikri, and Andra). thank you guysss for sharing the moment with us.
Thank you TOGEAN JOURNEY for creating a extraordinary, awesome, and magnificent moments to remember when we visit Togean Island. will be back someday! :)
n.b: dont forget to send the videos :)
We had 4 diving trips. 2 trips we saw the blacktip sharks. It was a great experience. We also dive into the B-24 wreck. It was great also.
I first heard about togean journey from my seniors who happened to live in Palu, months later my brother visited this islands and the first thing that came to my mind when he asked me about trip service in Togean was Togean Journey. What I remembered most about my brother’s trip in Togean was his exquisite underwater pictures, and I made a promise to myself that someday I should join the trip too!
And finally I could join the trip with my special friend, let me tell you guys what I really like about Togean Journey especially the person behind the name, Mr. Owan. My friend and I chose Wakai as the meeting point, we were supposed to be there on October 2, supposed the plan was we took the first flight from Jakarta to Palu at 5 am, arrived at 8.30 and took the next flight to Ampana at 09.20, then took the speedboat to Wakai from ampana at 12.00 and met Mr. Owan at 14.00 in Wakai. But the thing we both worried the most happened, the flight was delayed for an hour, so we automatically missed our second flight to Ampana and also the speedboat to Wakai. We were so panic because that means we ruined our original trip schedule, and it wasn’t a private trip but open trip, and the others took Gorontalo as meeting point. We thought we would be left behind and couldnt join the trip. But, as soon as I called mr. Owan and told the bad news to him, he was the one who tried to calm me and he helped us to book travel car from Palu to Ampana, he even called hotels in Ampana to accomodate our unexpected stay, and he helped me book the speedboat ticket for the next morning. He told me that they could wait for us the next morning and we could still join the group trip.
So, finally we arrived the next day and we had great times during the trip. Mr. Owan bought some big fishes for dinner and he always looked out for us and made sure we were safe and happy. As expected before, he was really dedicated when it came to documentation, he took amazing underwater pictures, he wouldn’t mind if he had to re-take several times even though that means he had to dive in and out of the water, to make sure we were satisfied with out picture. He knew beautiful spots for taking picture and he even told us what poses we should do. Thumbs up for the pictures!!
So, if you want to visit Togean island, just call mr. Owan, he will arrange everything for you, all you have to do is just relax and enjoy your island getaway. We guarantee you will have great times and memories, you’ll love the island as much as we do :)
I joined the New Year’s Togean Trip starting from Gorontalo, we have to cross to Wakai by ferry in a 12hrs journey. Make sure you book a cabin in the ferry with an additional fee of Rp500,000/cabin (can fit up to 3 person) The cabin is equipped with a queen size bed and a single bed with air condition and a sink. The guide, Owan, picked us up from the airport and we started to gather with other participants. We stayed in Bolilanga Island Resort, the stay was nice, staff is friendly, magnificent sunset/sunrise view. There are 2 island dogs named Monster and Herron, both will help look out for you during the stay :)The tour provided us with a boat for island hopping as well. Recommended!
Togean Journey headed by the enthusiastic Mr. Owan, is the perfect guide for you trip in an around Togian/Togean Islands, Gorontalo & Ampana.
I travelled with Togean Journey, and in our "Journey" we crossed the Tomini Gulf and the equator.
As i was travelling alone, i decided to employ Togean Journey's services. Due to the flexible nature of a private trip. I got to enjoy numerous breathtaking locations with little to no tourists around.
Mr. Owan is a very capable photographer and knows the angles and spots to help me capture these priceless moments. He just bought a phantom 4 pro to boot (Too bad i didnt get a chance to play with it as it was delivered to him during our trip)
Rather than explaining how awesome the trip was, i would like to point out a few situations where i felt that Togean Journey deserves a 5 star.
- There are not many tour operators yet in this region (i hope it stays that way) and arranging the modes of transport and accomodation can be a hassle. Togean Journey has a wide array of accomodation and destinationa to pick from. Therefore you can customize your trip as much as you'd like.
- Mr. Owan is a very capable photographer and knows the angles and spots to help me capture these priceless moments. He just bought a phantom 4 pro to boot (Too bad i didnt get a chance to play with it as it was delivered to him during our trip)
- Compared with the other boats operating in the area. The boat he uses and the boat captain (Mr. Buche) is top notch. The engine is not too loud, and Mr. Buche is always there to make sure that the journey is safe and fun
- Mr. Owan is very knowlegdeable about the stories and facts to the places you visit. He speaks good English as well. I can see why he is well known in the region. During my diving trip in Sanctum Una Una, my cellphone suddenly was not operable. All the hotel and flight bookings were saved in my cellphone. As i had Mr. Owan arrange a hotel in Ampana for me, i didnt care to save these information. Lucikly on my last night in Una Una, i met some top class folks who was working for Indonesia's national parks. They were shooting some footage there. Lucikly one of the people there (Mr. Fadly) knows Mr. Owan and has his no. Long short. The national park crew took in a hitchhiker straight to Ampana the next day. Giving me extra time to free dive with the school of barracudas. Not long after i reached my hotel in Ampana. Mr. Owan surprised me with a visit and gave me his brand new phone to use. I happily accepted his offer and was connected to the virtual world after 4 days without it.
This kind of service is not birthed by motivation of money or glory. Togean Journey is motivated by having their customers come as STRANGERS and leave as FRIENDS.
People say: "It's not about the destination but, its about ther journey." With Togean Journey it couldn't be more true.
Big thanks to Togean Journey, Mr. Owan, Mr. Buche, The National Park Crew, and Mr. Fadly for making this journey an unforgettable one for me. See you on the next adventure fellas
P.S. If you are a big seafood fan like me. 1 kg of lobsters can be bought for Rp. 300,000 ($21), Crab for Rp. 150.000 ($15.5) and others. You have to tell to Mr. Owan beforehand as the seafood are sold in markets and are not readily available on the resort. On the other hand, there is no cooking fee :)
