What a wonderful find.
If ever you have thought that the Canaries was just about vast, impersonal, coastal, high-riser buildings full of either lager swilling youths or under-dressed geriatrics then think again. This beautifully designed house up the hillside over looking the sea was quite exquisite. This small, family run (with Germanic precision) hotel, in a great position and far from the maddening crowd, is more like a private house.
The staff were all cheerful and acted like they enjoyed their job and looking after guests. The owners were charming and discreet. The dinners were first class and more than ample and the breakfasts outside on the terrace covered every possible taste. The facilities were more than one could possibly have expected for a hotel of this size - well equipped gym, excellent sauna area, treatment rooms, fabulous carpet tennis court, large games room , yoga room, private sunning areas in their beautiful garden which even had a pétanque court hidden away and of course the pool/spa bath.We borrowed their mountain bikes which were in good working order to do a mountain trail. We were left wanting nothing - who needs the coast? - millions evidently which works to our advantage to ensure the cheapest of transport out there. Perfect spot for recharging batteries and a bit of winter sunshine.Cant wait to go back.More
