Groupon deals vary a lot, and frequently you find on arrival that the menu's so restricted that you wish you hadn't bothered.

That certainly wasn't the case here, and there was a wide choice - including one of my favourites, whitebait, as a starter. Marinated olives were also available, and a generous portion (as with the whitebait) was served to my wife.

There was a good choice of mains too, and the choice of puddings instead of starters was also offered as part of the Groupon package.

The service was friendly and efficient (with checkbacks to see if everything was OK) and we left feeling that this was a place we hadn't tried before, but would certainly return to.

I was impressed with the lunch, and with the way the Groupon deal had been handled. All credit to the management, the chef, and the server.

Went out for a meal with some friends and enjoyed it very much. Friendly service, nice choice of food - something for everyone. Restaurant quality food not traditional "pub grub" so it is worth paying extra. The food was delicious but the gin selection was fantastic!!

Called in on spec for tea, totally forgetting about a large event on at the pub but Chef was able to accomodate us.

Had fish and chips from the bar menu and children's chicken goujons and fries. All well presented and very tasty. Thank you

Today was not the first time I have had an excellent meal here but it was the first time I have been for Sunday lunch. The food was first class with perfectly cooked meat accompanied by a great selection of veg. Hats off in particular to the swede and carrot mash wish was awesome. Generous portions, giant roast potatoes which were crispy on the outside and smooth in the middle along with an enormous Yorkshire pudding. Will be going back again and again for the food, the service and the atmosphere

Just got back from holiday, fancied some English pub grub at The Wishing Well and did not get it. Instead we got the benefit of their new Spring Menu which would grace any good quality restaurant. The potted brown shrimps on toasted walnut bread formed a savoury, buttery introduction for one of us whilst the crisp white bait met the approval of my dining partner. She had fish and chips which she said was the best ever and I had seared salmon on green leaves and a superb mash with a cracking sauce. This pub/ restaurant gets better and better. Thanks Jackie, Ross and Claudia.
