Our family of four recently stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on the basis of the reviews on tripadviser and although it is in an unusual location the place is a little haven. Once you step on the grounds you feel serene. The grounds are besutifully groomed and it is so relaxing. You can spend time in and around the pool and the fact that there are only 20 rooms means that you re not just a number. Phil and his staff will care for you and ensure that your stay is enjoyable. The place is great for children as well with Jack the rabbit making his presence know. If you are looking to relax this is the place for you and Patong is only a short taxi ride away.

Thank you for your review, it was a real pleasure having you as our guests and all the staff that helped in ensuring you enjoy your stay, have been informed of your glowing report,. Jack the rabbit is still putting on a daily show still and is friends with everyone that feeds him with some carrot. He and Jasmine the pomeranian had a great time today chasing each other and showing off to the guests. Great to know that even when the resort is full, our staff can still provide a service that ensures our guests have a great time.
Kind regards Phil and the team.

I recently travelled to Phuket and stayed at the Royal Embassy. It was a truly beautiful experience. The hotel is small and intimate yet provides high quality accomaodation and service. I look forward to travelling back to Phuket and staying at the Royal Embassy again. The two bedroom apartment is a great alternative for friends travelling together and not having to pay for two separate hotel rooms. I highly recommend this hotel.

This review is well overdue and we were so lucky to find this great little resort, but are even luckier to be able to go back again for a second visit.
Stayed in a bungalow and my sister and hubby in one of the apartments and we couldn,t have been happier with the location, accomodation, service, facilities and most importantly the friendliness of staff, manager and owners.
Yes its a 10 minute walk to beach but this gives you a chance for a bit of exercise after lazing around the pool, yes you hear the prayer calls in the morning but its so unobtrusive and reminds you you are in another country.
The bungalow's are situated around the pool (there is also a small pool for children). Very clean and serviced daily. This is small complex but being so gives you the opportunity to interact with staff and others staying there.
The apartments have kitchen facilities, not that we did much cooking, but there is a new supermarket 5 minutes away for provisions.
There are also massage treatments available, and Phil is always on hand to advise on tours etc.
We were there for my sons wedding and they were kind enough to let him stay with us the night before the wedding in Phang Nga.
They have a great open dining room and we sampled many of the menu items, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The grounds are maintained every day, staff clearing fallen leaves etc.
In the main street you are spoilt for choice of restaurants, also many on Kamala Beach.
A night market is just down the road if you fancy a taste of street food.
As for sleep quality, very peaceful , so each day you wake full of energy to spend chilling out in Kamala. Its no surpise to me they have won Travellers Choice Award for 2013.
Well done !!

Thank you for your fantastic review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here at Royal Embassy, really enjoyed meeting you and having you as our guests. 2012 was a great year for us, having attained an "Excellence Award " from tripadvisor and reaching NO1 spot in Kamala, then two weeks ago. as you mentioned, a new award, as "TRAVELERS CHOICE" for small hotel 2013. It is a really important award, as you can't buy it or fake it , they are decided by the most important people in our business, the travelers themselves, so we are delighted that all our hard work has been recognized and the icing on the cake is getting a review such as yours., As you can imagine, all our staff are on a high at the moment and are so appreciative that you have taken the time to write a review for us also. Many thanks and hope to see you back again one day.

Me and my wife stayed for one week at the hotel. We got there via the ratings at this web site and though all in all we had a nice time, I must say I expected a bit more.
The room was large enough and the bed comfortable, but We fell it could use a bit of renovations as you could see the toilet walls had better times and the TV sets are still CRT (not flat).
We were quite pleased with the cleanness of the room.
The quality of the staff service varied. It was excellent as long as Frank the owner was there. It was just OK when he was not.
I'd say the hotels location is not that convenient as it is located at the outskirts of the village and 15 minute walk from the beach.
What bothered me the most was the fact that there is a Mosque close by and I found myself waking up almost every morning by its loudspeaker.
The hotels pool and garden next to it are very nice and relaxing.
To sum things up, the hotel is fine in western standards. I've been in better hotels in Thailand.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms which are facing the pool

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of you stay with us. Great to know that overall you were happy with your stay and sorry to know a couple of things disappointed you and I have taken on board your comments. Regarding the flat screen TV's we are slowly upgrading all the rooms and are half way there, so your room obviously is yet to be upgraded, all rooms will have flat screens before the end of this year. The resort is just over seven years old and at that time flat screen TV's were extremely expensive, Regarding the tiles in the toilet, on checking your room, I think you mean the grout between the tiles, we are now replacing that with new grout.. The early morning mosque prayers on the loud speakers, have become offensive due to the replacement of small speakers to larger ones. This is currently being discussed with the Kamala Municipality and we are hopeful of a good outcome, for the good of all tourists to Kamala and Phuket. Island. Regarding the 15 minute walk to the best part of the beach, we do provide a free shuttle service to and from anywhere in Kamala, including the beach, between the hours of 10.30am and 9.30pm except Fridays, our drivers day off.
As you stated, overall you enjoyed your stay and that is great news to us as all our staff work very hard to try to ensure every guest has a great time with us, while staying here.
Wishing you all the best for 2013

A really super little hotel and not too far to walk to the fab beach at Kamala. Phil runs a tight ship, everything is super clean and spotlessly kept. The staff went out of their way to make everything as nice as possible. Good food etc.
Sadlywe did not stay for as long as we would have liked as we had very little sleep whilst staying there.. Many of the rooms are next to the main road and even though it is double glazed there is traffic until very late and from very early. It has been mentioned in previous reviews there is a mosque near by and they have recently installed much louder speakers, hence a five oçlock wake up call every day. There is a massive construction site behind the hotel and this noise starts at about 8am. Hopefully this will be finished in about a year or so.,Very sad as it really could be a fantastic little spot. However if noise is not an issue then everything else is just perfect and I wish Phil and his team a sucessful New Year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review and make so many kind comments about the resort. We have worked very hard for the past two years that I have owned the resort to ensure that our guests have a good time and all their needs are meet, but as you say there are some external factors that do influence our 100% commitment. We have had a meeting with the municipality regarding the loudness of the speakers nearby and they have promised to talk to the mosque and get back to us, The manager of the construction site has promised us that no load noise will start prior to 10am in the mornings ( workers will still start at 8am and finish at 6pm) so hopefully guests like yourself, who want peace and quiet, will be better catered for in the future.
The construction will be finished by the end of July 2013, so would love to see you back here one day after that, so please keep reading trip advisor for progress on the mosque speakers
Kind regards
