The Novotel Taipei Taoyuan is an excellent choice for evening arrivals into TPE, and for making a morning departure out of TPE. There's a shuttle between the airport and the hotel, as well as a shuttle to to the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR).

The service personnel are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Also, there are good options for eating, and the hotel fitness center is excellent.

In summary, this is an excellent airport hotel. I will stay here again when traveling to Taiwan.

Have now stayed three times at Novotel in Taoyuan. The first and third time, the rooms were quiet and hardly noticed the sound from the runways. The second time we stayed in October, the room on the 6th floor facing the China Airlines building was very susceptible to take-off noise. Don't know why? Different windows maybe? But look forward to staying at the Novotel on our return to Taiwan.

I had a late flight on Cebu Pacific which was supposed to get in at 1230 midnight. The last bus to town at NT90 is at 1255 midnight and the taxis to Taipei were going for NT$1800 with the night surcharge. I got a rate of NT2500 for booking early so it was a much better value for me to stay at the Novotel and take a bus the next day, then get into Taipei at 2AM check in and get to bed by 3AM.
I emailed the hotel ahead since the location of the shuttle bus was not clear from their website or directions so I have included a picture of the bus stop and the bus.
The hotel lobby was modern beautiful and spacious. Picture included also.
There is a seating area in the elevator lobby while waiting for the elevator.
It was a wonderful bed and the room was very modern and clean. The bathroom shower had two shower heads and a closed section with a separate for the toilet, which is convenient for 2 people to use the toilet at the same time. I would have liked the shower to have a complete curtain or sliding door since I splashed the rest of the bathroom showering. There is an innovative switch which makes the bathroom glass between the bathroom and the bedroom opaque or transparent with a flick of a switch (that can get romantic) alas my wife wasn't with me.
There was fast wireless WiFi
Breakfast the next day was quite good because of the sheer variety of choices. Japanese, Salads including aloe vera stalks, alfalfa and radish sprouts, congee, both Chinese and Japanese noodles. Western pancakes, sausages and egg station.

When we arrived in Taipei, we weren't expecting any fancy hotel. We had very low hopes for this hotel but we were very much wrong. This hotel had great, stylish, comfortable and clean rooms, although the food quality and taste wasn't great I would recommend to eat in restaurants out of the hotel. The spa treatments was amazing and definitely a treat, very expensive but it was worth it.
