The University is a very pleasant place for a picturesque walk. There are a number of old buildings associated with its past history including Oxford College. Some are open to the public. It is adjacent to the old British Consulate and Fort San Domingo so can be combined for a longer outing.
The Aletheia University, located next to Fort San Domingo, is a private university in Danshui/Tamsui The school was founded by George Leslie Mackay as Oxford College, and is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Taiwan. Due to it's proximity to the fort, it has become a tourist attraction by itself. Many visitors of the fort would double up with a visit to the school's beautiful gardens and stately old buildings to soak up the historical experience.
Aletheia University is neighbor of Fort Santo Domingo, very close to Tamsui River. Since it is uphill, the view of the river is great!
Also, you will find there very nice gardens, specially close to the main entrance.
If viditing the Fort, you should not miss it!
This university sits high above the Tamshui River, right beside Fort Santo Domingo. It has some beautiful buildings, one of which, the Oxford College building, dates to the late 1800s. Inside that building is a small museum that details the life of George MacKay, the Presbyterian minister who started the school. There are various antiques and artifacts inside, and the building is fun to look through.
Otherwise, it's just a university campus with nice little nooks to hang out in, although there are plenty of other places that are more beautiful. If you're in the area, it's worth a look, but otherwise, don't bother.
